0/5. They contacted me by WhatsApp at 6:00 to say pick up was 7:40, for a 9:00 start. I was ready at 7:30. by 8:00 no show, I sent message. This was ignored. I then tried to call. No answer. By 8:30 still no show. Another message ignored, another phone call ignored. 9.00 send email through TripAdvisor App. 9.05 call TripAdvisor. Operator calls tour operator. No answer. Operator emails Tour operator, 24 hours later still no response. Avoid.
Response from the operator: I’m very sorry you had this experience. This is clearly not the level of service we expect, especially when you were ready on time and made several attempts to contact the tour operator without receiving any response. We completely understand your frustration and sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and disappointment caused. Your feedback regarding the lack of communication and the missed pick-up will be taken seriously.

Safari was not a good choice for me.
The bus was disappointing. Plastic windshield you couldn't see through because it was dirty. And a kind of window secured with rope always blew.
Response from the operator: Nous sommes désolés, mais je ne pense pas que ce problème soit lié aux déchets de rue ou au plastique.

Great Tour Away from the Crowds
We took this tour on a Sunday morning, and it was great, very light traffic and a relaxed start to the day. The tour took us outside the busy tourist areas, which we really appreciated. We got to see beautiful nature, visit a plantation, and taste different fruits that had been picked the very same day. The house tour was excellent; it was amazing to see how people live in the rural area. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable, and both the guide and the driver were extremely friendly and welcoming. The van was very comfortable, which made the experience even better. We truly enjoyed the tour and would highly recommend it.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed the relaxed Sunday morning, the beautiful nature, plantation visit, and fresh fruit tasting. It’s especially great to know that you appreciated the visit to the rural area and the house tour, and that our guide and driver made you feel welcome and comfortable. We’ll be very happy to share your kind words with the team. Thank you for recommending us, and we hope to welcome you again in the future! 😊

We really enjoyed the City Tour, our tour guide was excellent, he was very informative and wanted to make sure we got to experience everything the tour offered. Our first stop was to an old Dominican home where we learned about turning coffee beans into coffee. This part of the tour could have been shortened, although it was very interesting to see the process, it was to long and the mosquitoes were terrible. We enjoyed the stop at the school and loved the hugs we got from the children. The city market was an experience too.
Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed the City Tour and that your guide made the experience informative and enjoyable while ensuring you experienced everything the tour had to offer. We appreciate your feedback regarding the visit to the traditional Dominican home. We are always looking for ways to improve our tours, and your comments about the duration of this stop and the mosquitoes are very valuable to us. It is wonderful to know that you enjoyed visiting the school and meeting the children, as well as experiencing the local city market. These authentic cultural interactions are some of the highlights we love sharing with our guests. Thank you for choosing GoldTrip. We hope to welcome you again on another adventure in the Dominican Republic!

It's great to know that you appreciated the diversity of the tour, from the beautiful beaches to the scenic mountains. Why this scores 63
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
City Tour & Half-Day Safari Experiences: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Punta Cana.
How much does City Tour & Half-Day Safari Experiences cost?
+
Prices start at $40 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Punta Cana usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does City Tour & Half-Day Safari Experiences take?
+
Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Punta Cana is not rushed.
Is City Tour & Half-Day Safari Experiences worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 63 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.4/5 across 12 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Punta Cana, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule City Tour & Half-Day Safari Experiences?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is City Tour & Half-Day Safari Experiences suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book City Tour & Half-Day Safari Experiences?
+
Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Punta Cana can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Punta Cana and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does City Tour & Half-Day Safari Experiences start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Punta Cana within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Punta Cana?
+
On Outty we rank every Punta Cana experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Punta Cana Zipline - 8 lines and a suspenseful hanging bridge, Punta Cana Buggy or ATV Tour with Macao Beach, Cave and Tastings, Off Road Buggy Adventure. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Punta Cana?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Punta Cana?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
