Malaga city sightseeing

Terrible experience with city sightseeing Malaga ! I purchased the 48 hour bus ,boat, museum’s & cave tickets online for myself & my daughter at a cost of £87.42 what a big mistake that was ! We got on the bus & validated our tick for our 1st & only journey at botanic gardens, it took us to the bus station where we were told to get off the bus no other information given only the driver yelling 3 at us I had to lift an information leaflet myself on the way off the bus hadn’t a clue what was happening ! We tried to find our way to the stop for the red service couldn’t find it so made our own way to the information kiosk at the marina to get help & book our tickets for the cave trip. The lady there was very helpful but told us that the boat was not fixed & would not be operational the next day for these trips, city sightseeing why put on your website that the boat would be operational on the 30th when it clearly wasn’t !! Totally fed up by this stage so tickets were used other that that one journey from the botanic gardens to the station. I phoned, emailed & messaged got replies asking for information which was given & eventually they agreed to give a partial refund of £13.74 which is just an insult they may as well not have bothered. I will never use again & don’t usually give bad reviews but was so disappointed as I have used their services before & not had any problems.

Response from the operator: Thank you for taking the time to share such detailed feedback. We are truly sorry that your experience with City Sightseeing Málaga did not meet your expectations, especially as you had used our services previously and had a positive experience. We understand your frustration regarding the information provided during your first journey, the difficulty locating the Red Route, and particularly the boat service not operating as expected. We also appreciate your comments about the communication and assistance you received while trying to organise your visit. We will share this feedback with the local Málaga team, as clear information and a smooth Hop-On Hop-Off sightseeing experience are extremely important to us. We are pleased, however, that the member of our team at the Marina was able to assist you, and we are sorry that the partial refund offered did not leave you feeling that your concerns had been adequately addressed. We genuinely value your previous support of City Sightseeing Málaga and regret that this visit left you disappointed. Your feedback helps us identify areas where we need to improve our service and communication for future visitors. We hope that, despite this experience, we may have the opportunity to restore your confidence in City Sightseeing in the future.

Hop On Hop Off - best way to get acquainted

Always a great way to get a lay of the land in a new country. We took the red line for this tour and loved every minute of it. They provide you with earphones to plug in and listen to the sights you’re seeing in your language. The schedule was a bit inconsistent but it didn’t negatively impact us. This tour included two museum passes and two other routes (blue and green). Definitely great value for the money and gives a great photo vantage point of some beautiful sights.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much Lisa for your detailed review! We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed exploring Málaga with City Sightseeing and that the Red Route gave you a great introduction to the city. It’s wonderful to know you appreciated the multilingual audio commentary and the different perspectives of Málaga’s beautiful sights from our Hop-On Hop-Off sightseeing bus. We’re also pleased that you found the combination of the Red, Blue and Green Routes together with the two museum admissions to be great value for money. This is a fantastic way to discover Málaga’s highlights while adding some cultural visits to your sightseeing experience. Thank you as well for your feedback regarding the schedule. We’re always working to improve the service and provide a smooth experience for our visitors. We hope to welcome you back to Málaga on your next trip!

Good Consistent Reliable

The usual citysightseeing experience round the city covering all the important facts and locations. The Malaga one offered another route out to the botanical gardens. The place is stunning and as reliable as always the sightseeing bus had buses go past stops at 20min intervals

Avoid

Having used this company for several other open top tours in other cities we were looking forward to a tour of Malaga and booked direct. We were incredibly disappointed. We waited for around half an hour at the stop by the station and nothing came. The time given on the bus stop suggested we might have a bit of a wait so we went into the station. In the station the member of staff told us that they were not running until 1pm on that day which wouldn’t have left us much time and was not as advertised. We were told to have a coffee in the station and then come back for 1pm. We sat in the station for 1.5 hours and headed back outside for 12.30, just missing a bus. We asked a member of staff about this who was rude and unhelpful. We asked when the next would be and was told “30 minutes, or it could be 20, who knows?” We got on the next bus to arrive. The audio commentary worked, but was not synced with the route - for example, being told to look to the right when there was nothing there, or being told to prepare to go through a tunnel that we had gone through five minutes before. We would absolutely not recommend this due to: - poor attitude and communication of staff - buses that run whenever they want, rather than to a schedule - poor commentary - changes to routes without warning or info.

Response from the operator: We’re very sorry to hear that your experience in Malaga did not meet your expectations. We sincerely apologize for the confusion regarding the service times, the information provided by our staff, and the issues with the audio commentary. We understand how frustrating this must have been, especially after waiting for the bus and planning your day around the tour. We appreciate you sharing these detailed comments. We will forward your feedback to the local team so that the points raised can be reviewed and addressed.

City Sightseeing Malaga Hop-On Hop-Off Bus + Entry to Museums: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Malaga.

How much does City Sightseeing Malaga Hop-On Hop-Off Bus + Entry to Museums cost?

+

Prices start at $17 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Malaga usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does City Sightseeing Malaga Hop-On Hop-Off Bus + Entry to Museums take?

+

Plan for about 1 hour from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Malaga is not rushed.

Is City Sightseeing Malaga Hop-On Hop-Off Bus + Entry to Museums worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 62 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.1/5 across 708 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Malaga, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule City Sightseeing Malaga Hop-On Hop-Off Bus + Entry to Museums?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is City Sightseeing Malaga Hop-On Hop-Off Bus + Entry to Museums suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 4. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 1-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book City Sightseeing Malaga Hop-On Hop-Off Bus + Entry to Museums?

+

Around 248 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Malaga can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Malaga and add a light layer if any part of the 1-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does City Sightseeing Malaga Hop-On Hop-Off Bus + Entry to Museums start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Malaga within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Malaga?

+

On Outty we rank every Malaga experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Malaga City Tour 2 Hours Monumental Segway Tour, Taste of Malaga Tour : Tapas, History and Local Customs, Go local for a day!. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Malaga?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Malaga?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
