Great quick tour
Great tour. They had people in the harbor area helping with information and it was really nice. The tour itself was good told a lot of history and great information. It’s a pretty short ride 1 hour or so but worth the money.
Response from the operator: Dear Melissa, thank you so much for your lovely review! We're so happy to hear you had a great tour, enjoyed the history and information, and found it worth the money even if it's a pretty short ride of around 1 hour. And a special thank you for your kind words about our team in the harbour area helping with information. We'll pass that on, they'll be delighted! Thank you for choosing us and sending you a big hug from the whole City Sightseeing Bergen team. We hope to see you again very soon!

I think wLking in this town is much easier to see much more
In this small town there are two almost identical Hop on bus companies, we thought we had bought the original one, becacause the logos on the website are almost identical. The bus we bought by mistake was hard to find and not on time
Response from the operator: Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re sorry to hear about the confusion regarding the different Hop-On Hop-Off operators in Bergen and that you had difficulty locating the correct bus and experienced delays. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention and hope to have the opportunity to provide you with a better experience in the future.

Woeful and a complete waste of money
Woeful! Avoid. We were encouraged by the sales pitch at the port gates as we exited from our cruise ship, attracted to the idea of a comfortable orientating tour. I want to set the context - my wife is disabled and there were two other couples who were quite infirm. The bus travelled just five stops and we were told to get off “as the driver needs a break”. After all the physical challenges of getting on, we found ourselves facing the same difficulties just a few minutes later when getting off. We had to get to the next stop proper “where the next bus is waiting”. However - so was dozens of other people. Bottom line - we weren’t able to all fit on the bus! So - we had to wait for the next one - which was the one we’d earlier been told to get off!!! We got on the bus - just - and so did lots of other people. The tour itself - boring. In fact we got off before the half way mark. If the City is at all busy (there was one large and one ball cruise ship in that day) HOHO can’t seem to cope. I strongly suggest not wasting your money - the city is easy and small enough to walk round.
Response from the operator: Hello, thank you for sharing your feedback. We are sorry to hear that the experience was difficult, particularly regarding the interruption of the tour and the challenges it created for your wife and other guests with limited mobility. We understand how frustrating it must have been to face overcrowding and wait for another bus after already being asked to disembark. If you would like to discuss your experience further, please contact us at info@stromma.no. Kind regards, Eirin

Why this scores 53
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
City Sightseeing Bergen Hop-On Hop-Off Bus Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Bergen.
How much does City Sightseeing Bergen Hop-On Hop-Off Bus Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $17 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Bergen usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does City Sightseeing Bergen Hop-On Hop-Off Bus Tour take?
+
Plan for about 0.9 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Bergen is not rushed.
Is City Sightseeing Bergen Hop-On Hop-Off Bus Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 53 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3/5 across 122 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Bergen, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule City Sightseeing Bergen Hop-On Hop-Off Bus Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is City Sightseeing Bergen Hop-On Hop-Off Bus Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 5. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 0.9-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book City Sightseeing Bergen Hop-On Hop-Off Bus Tour?
+
Around 43 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Bergen can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Bergen and add a light layer if any part of the 0.9-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does City Sightseeing Bergen Hop-On Hop-Off Bus Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Bergen within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Bergen?
+
On Outty we rank every Bergen experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Walking Tour in Bergen of the Past and Present, Guided Tour To Nærøyfjorden, Flåm & Stegastein - incl. 2h cruise, Discover Bergen on Foot and Boat. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Bergen?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Bergen?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
