Excellent experience
This brunch cruise was absolutely amazing. We went for our 28th year anniversary. And loved it so much that we intend to go again soon. The food was great. Alot of times you find that only some menu items are good. But I must say everything I had was fresh and delicious. This cruise is well worth it. Great job to the entire cruise crew...

What a wonderful experience aboard the Odyssey!
What a wonderful experience aboard the Odyssey! We celebrated a 90th birthday, and the staff made the occasion truly memorable. Although the Chicago skyline was cloudy, the outstanding service, delicious food, and welcoming atmosphere made for a fantastic afternoon. I also want to recognize Juwann for his exceptional customer service. He was professional, personable, and went above and beyond to make every guest feel welcome. He shared that he is currently in school, and if he isn't already on a management track, he certainly should be. His leadership potential and dedication to guests make him a tremendous asset to City Cruises. I highly recommend the Odyssey for anyone looking to celebrate a special occasion or simply enjoy a beautiful day on the water.

Disappointed in quality
The food was terrible and the music was super loud to the point I couldn’t hear my sister. The service was amazing and the crew was professional, none of this reflects in any way on them. Overall the experience was more like what I would expect if I spent $40, not over $100.

A great time!
We loved everything about the cruise! The food was delicious, the DJ kept the atmosphere fun, the service was excellent, and the mimosas were a great touch. We did the Chicago Signature Bottomless Mimosa Brunch Cruise on Lake Michigan. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and a highlight of our trip. The only reason I'm giving 4/5 instead of 5/5 is because we paid extra for a window seat, but I noticed other guests were moved to window seats at no additional cost. It made the upgrade feel a little less valuable. Other than that, everything was fantastic, and I would definitely recommend City Cruises to others.

Catered to a private event
When we got on the boat we quickly realized that 90% of the people weren’t speaking English, ok no big deal just thought it unusual. After a few minutes of extremely rude and unapologetic Polish people we realized it was an organized charity event for this extremely large group. Passengers not a part of this group had a hard time getting drinks or food because these people acted soo entitled. They would cut in line in front of you or bump you while passing and never say excuse me! Dominated everything about this cruise. They played Polish music, had raffles and games for this group. While the passengers that were not a part of the group were just shuffled to the side. Was an absolutely horrible experience. We picked the more expensive trip just thinking maybe it would be a little more enjoyable. Boy were we wrong. By the end of the trip which was supposed to be about 2 hours ended up lasting almost 4! Why in the world would you let regular passengers book when 90% of the people on the boat was a private event????!!!! Definitely take one of the other cruises from a different company. Maybe they will appreciate EVERYONE! The people that weren’t apart of the private event probably paid way more for the excursion only to be treated very poorly. By the end of the trip most of the private party were so drunk and belligerent I had to shove 1 man away from me! Very dissatisfied!

Why this scores 48
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
City Cruises Chicago: Signature Brunch Cruise on Lake Michigan: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Chicago.
How much does City Cruises Chicago: Signature Brunch Cruise on Lake Michigan cost?
+
Prices start at $72 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Chicago usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does City Cruises Chicago: Signature Brunch Cruise on Lake Michigan take?
+
Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Chicago is not rushed.
Is City Cruises Chicago: Signature Brunch Cruise on Lake Michigan worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 48 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.7/5 across 9 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Chicago, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule City Cruises Chicago: Signature Brunch Cruise on Lake Michigan?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is City Cruises Chicago: Signature Brunch Cruise on Lake Michigan suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book City Cruises Chicago: Signature Brunch Cruise on Lake Michigan?
+
Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Chicago can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Chicago and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does City Cruises Chicago: Signature Brunch Cruise on Lake Michigan start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Chicago within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Chicago?
+
Chicago's signature experience is still the architecture boat cruise, and the difference between the docent-led originals and the party-boat imitators is the single biggest quality gap in the city. Beyond the river: gangster history walks, Art Institute access, deep-dish and hot-dog crawls, and skydeck timed entry. Outty Ranking leans on guide credentials and how consistently the promised route runs. On Outty we rank every Chicago experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Original Chicago Architecture Interiors Tour: Dazzling Interiors, Chicago Murder Mystery Tour, Chicago Favorites Ultimate Food and Walking Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Chicago?
+
May to October. Winter cruises stop running when the river ices. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Chicago?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
