    Honeymoon Adventure!

Jake and Romain were awesome! My wife and I were in Costa Rica on our honeymoon and looking to add a little adventure to the trip, so we decided to try whitewater rafting for the very first time together — and we’re so glad we did! Jake was an incredible guide: experienced, knowledgeable, funny, and clearly very comfortable on the river. He made us feel safe the entire time while still keeping the trip exciting and full of laughs. One of the coolest parts was our snack break, when Jake took us to a beautiful waterfall and showed us several interesting local plants along the way — including a few we could actually eat! It was the perfect combination of adrenaline, scenery, and learning a little more about Costa Rica. We had an absolute blast and will definitely be reaching out to Jake for another adventure the next time we’re in the area!

    Epic Adventure

What an incredible adventure! This was the first rafting trip for my 10 and 15 year old. They were very nervous. The guides were encouraging and so responsible and competent. We felt safe the entire time which allowed us to have such a blast. This tour was epic. Highly recommend this team, the tour, and the company in general. We will be back for more adventure next year!!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful review! 🌊😊 We're thrilled to hear that your family's first rafting adventure was such a success! It's completely normal to feel nervous before tackling the river for the first time, especially for younger adventurers, so we're delighted that our guides helped your 10 and 15-year-olds feel comfortable, confident, and excited throughout the trip. Creating an experience where guests feel safe while still enjoying all the excitement and adventure of the river is exactly what we strive for. Hearing that you were able to relax, trust the team, and fully enjoy the experience means a lot to us. Thank you for your kind words about our guides and crew. We'll be sure to share your feedback with the team—they'll be thrilled to know they helped create such special family memories. Magical memories! Nature at its most thrilling!

Our family of four — two teens and two adults — had a magical experience rafting the Chorrro with our experienced and kind guides. The river provided a thrilling challenge and we were surrounded by nature in all its majesty. This was the best whitewater rafting we have ever experienced, and our guides enhanced the experience by teaching us about nature in the country they love. The excursion ended with a delicious meal they whipped up on the riverside. Enthusiastically recommend to anyone who feels physically and mentally up to the challenge. You won’t regret it!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your amazing review! 🌊💙 We're honored to hear that your family's adventure on the Chorro River was such a magical experience. Sharing this incredible river with families who appreciate both the excitement of the rapids and the beauty of the surrounding rainforest is exactly why we love what we do. It means a lot to know that this was the best whitewater rafting experience you've ever had. The Chorro offers a unique combination of thrilling rapids, spectacular scenery, and immersion in nature, and we're delighted that our guides helped make the day even more memorable by sharing their knowledge and passion for Costa Rica's wildlife, plants, and natural history. We're also glad you enjoyed the riverside meal. After a day of paddling through the canyon, there's nothing better than sharing fresh food and great memories by the river. Thank you for your enthusiastic recommendation and for trusting Costa Rica Explorer with your family's adventure. We hope the memories of the Chorro stay with you for years to come, and we would love to welcome you back for another unforgettable experience in the future. Pura Vida! 🇨🇷🤙🚣‍♂️🌴💦

    Amazing guides, unforgettable memories

Our trip down the river was enjoyable and unforgettable. The owners and guides were all super professional, knowledgeable (and honestly just really nice guys to spend the day with 🙏). It also wasn’t just a rafting expedition, Jake taught us about the flora and fauna of the region, which was a super cool and unexpected part of the experience. His expertise and passion ignited a very fun educational element to the day. If you’re willing to learn he’s willing to share. He even went as far as showing us first hand how nasty the ants are on the Bullhorn Acacia. 😂 Jeudy, Jacob, and crew: we appreciate the great time and memories. Can’t wait to come back

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your thoughtful review! 🌊🌿 We're thrilled to hear that your trip down the river was both enjoyable and unforgettable. Our goal is to create more than just a rafting adventure, so it means a lot to know that the combination of excitement, nature, and learning made the experience special for you. Jake will be especially happy to hear that you enjoyed the botanical and wildlife insights along the way. Sharing Costa Rica's incredible flora and fauna is one of his passions, and we're glad the Bullhorn Acacia made such a memorable impression! 😂 We'll be sure to pass along your kind words to Jeudy, Jacob, and the rest of the crew. Thank you for spending the day with us and for appreciating the effort our team puts into creating a safe, fun, and meaningful experience. We can't wait to welcome you back for more rapids, more wildlife, and maybe a few more lessons from the rainforest. Until then, Pura Vida! 🇨🇷🤙🌴💙

    Chorro Rafting: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Quepos.

How much does Chorro Rafting cost?

    +

Prices start at $135 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Quepos usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Chorro Rafting take?

    +

Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Quepos is not rushed.

    Is Chorro Rafting worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 77 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 102 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Quepos, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Chorro Rafting?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Chorro Rafting suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Chorro Rafting?

    +

Around 36 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Quepos can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Quepos and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Chorro Rafting start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Quepos within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Quepos?

    +

On Outty we rank every Quepos experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Full Day Waterfall Adventure, Manuel Antonio Canopy Tour - Longest Twin Zip Line in Central America, Manuel Antonio Park Tour and its Amazing Wildlife and Beaches. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Quepos?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Quepos?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.

What is included in Chorro Rafting?

    +

Included: Snacks; Lunch; All Fees and Taxes; In-vehicle air conditioning; and Rafting Safety Equipment, Boat and Paddles. Always check the voucher for the final list before you travel.

What languages is Chorro Rafting offered in?

    +

It is offered in English and Spanish. Pick your language when choosing a date and time, as not every departure runs in every language.

Will I get instant confirmation and a mobile ticket for Chorro Rafting?

    +
