Relaxing afternoon activity
Really enjoyed the experience. I was looking for something a little different from the usual sightseeing, and this was a lovely way to spend a quiet afternoon while learning more about traditional Chinese culture. The teacher was very friendly and patient, showing me step by step how to fold and cut the paper to create different patterns. It looks quite simple at first, but there is actually a lot of skill and precision involved! It was very satisfying to see the designs I wanted unfold on the paper. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, and I felt completely comfortable joining on my own. A fun and peaceful experience that I would definitely recommend to other solo travellers looking for a hands-on cultural activity in Shanghai.
Response from the operator: Thank you for your wonderful review! We’re so pleased you enjoyed discovering the art of Chinese paper cutting, and we hope the piece you created will always remind you of your trip in Shanghai.

Lovely Indoor Activity for My Parents
I booked this paper-cutting workshop for my parents during their visit to Shanghai. It was extremely hot outside, so I wanted to find something cultural that they could enjoy indoors without having to spend the whole afternoon walking around in the heat. My parents don’t speak much English, which I was a little worried about at first, but the staff were very friendly and patient with them. The language barrier really wasn’t a problem in the end. They had a lovely afternoon learning about Chinese paper cutting and making their own pieces to take home. It was relaxing, and not physically demanding, so it worked particularly well for older visitors. They came back very happy with what they had made and really enjoyed the experience.
Response from the operator: Thank you for your thoughtful review! We’re delighted your parents enjoyed a relaxing afternoon with us, and it’s wonderful to hear that our team helped make the experience comfortable and enjoyable despite the language barrier.

Nice and relaxing cultural activity
My friend and I joined a Chinese paper-cutting workshop at the cultural center and really enjoyed the experience. The atmosphere there is very pleasant and calming, which makes it easy to relax and enjoy the activity. There were teachers at the event walking around and helping everyone. They explained how to do the paper cutting, gave useful tips, and also shared some interesting stories about the history and traditions of Chinese paper cutting 剪纸. It left a very good impression overall. It was a nice way to step away from everyday life for a while, do something creative, and immerse myself a bit in Chinese culture. I'm really glad I went.
Response from the operator: Thank you for your thoughtful review! We’re so glad you and your friend enjoyed the atmosphere and the cultural side of the workshop 😊

Creating Beautiful Memories at a Chinese Paper Cutting Workshop
I joined the Chinese Paper Cutting Workshop in Shanghai with a friend, and it became one of our favorite memories from the trip. The studio was cozy and welcoming, and our instructor explained the history and symbolism behind paper cutting in a very clear and engaging way. Even though neither of us is very good at art, the step-by-step guidance made it easy to follow, and we were both surprised by how beautiful our final pieces turned out. We especially enjoyed that the teacher shared the meaning of different patterns, like flowers and animals, so it felt not only creative but also cultural and educational. The atmosphere was relaxed, we could ask questions at any time, and the instructor was very patient and encouraging. It was a great activity to do with a friend — we laughed a lot, took photos of the process, and left with our own handmade souvenirs. I would highly recommend this workshop to anyone looking for an authentic cultural experience in Shanghai, whether you are traveling with friends, as a couple, or even on your own.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your thoughtful review! We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed both the creative process and the cultural stories behind the workshop and even more so that you were proud of your final pieces! We really appreciate your kind words about our instructor and atmosphere. Hope to welcome you again on your next visit 😊
