What you'll see and do
We'll start our food tour at the world-famous Tasty Dumpling where you'll sample their pan-fried Pork & Chive dumplings. While you eat, your tour guide will teach you a few tricks of the trade about how they make their signature dumplings taste so delicious.
10 minutes here
On our way to the next food stop, we'll visit Mosco Street. This street may be small but it plays home to some unique Chinese street art and also offers one of the best vantage points to photograph the One World Trade Center.
10 minutes here
Our food tour wouldn't be complete without visiting Mei Lai Wah. This nearly 60-year-old restaurant is famous for selling the best Char Siu Pork Buns in the city. An absolute crowd pleaser, they make some sweet, spicy, and succulent pork before they stuff it inside a steamed Chinese Bao bun. This place is one of those 'if you know you know' spots, and it's guaranteed to get your mouth watering.
10 minutes here
Our next stop is at Doyer Street aka Murder Alley. Located in the heart of Chinatown, this street has a dark history and used to be the location where rival Chinese gangs would settle their differences back in the 1800s (don't worry though, the street is very safe now!)
10 minutes here
Next, we’ll head to Spongies Cafe to try a Hong Kong-style sponge cake paired with a sample of their homemade sweet Thai tea. The light, airy cake and the refreshing tea make for the perfect combination—a unique and delicious treat you won’t want to miss!
15 minutes here
As we leave Chinatown and cross over into Little Italy, we'll have an opportunity to stop at the 'Welcome to Little Italy' sign. This iconic spot offers the perfect location to take a quick picture in the heart of Little Italy with the Empire State Building in the background.
10 minutes here
Piemonte Ravioli
We’ll stop by Piemonte Ravioli, a family-owned pasta-making store that’s been a Little Italy staple for over 100 years. While we’re there, you’ll get to try their handmade potato gnocchi with a homemade marinara sauce.
10 minutes here
Next, we'll take a quick stop outside of Mulberry Street Bar. This iconic spot may look familiar as it has been featured in popular mafia movies and shows including The Sopranos, Goodfellas, and The Irishmen.
5 minutes here
Audrey Hepburn Mural
We’ll stop by Mulberry Street to see the stunning mural of Audrey Hepburn, a striking piece of street art that captures her timeless elegance in the heart of Little Italy.
5 minutes here
Our last stop will be Nolita Pizza, this popular pizza spot that offers some of the best New York-style pizza in the city. We'll try some of their delicious cheese pizza with a thin and crispy base, homemade tomato sauce, and melted mozzarella cheese.
20 minutes here
Our final stop is Eileen’s Special Cheesecake, a beloved New York bakery that’s been serving its iconic desserts for over 50 years. Here, you’ll get to enjoy one of their famous cheesecakes or a classic Italian cannoli, the perfect sweet ending to the tour.

So Fun!!
This tour was a great experience! I’ve lived in NYC for 26 years but I barely know Chinatown. That has been corrected! Alex was really knowledgeable and a true professional. She took us to amazing places that we would not have discovered on our own. Everything we ate was fantastic! I highly recommend this tour - it was a very fun way to explore the city!
Response from the operator: Hey Heidi, 26 years in the city and Chinatown was still new territory, that's exactly what we hope the Chinatown and Little Italy food tour does. Alex knows those blocks well and loves taking people to spots they'd otherwise walk right past. Sounds like the food held up its end too. We'd love to have you back out with us on another tour.

A Must-do while in NYC
Absolute must do. Not only do you get to try great food you find out interesting things about the places. Our guide, Meri-Haitkin was outstanding!
Response from the operator: Thanks for taking the time to write this. The stories behind the places are half the reason we built the Chinatown and Little Italy food tour the way we did, so it's nice that both sides of it worked for you. Meri will appreciate hearing it, and we hope you'll join us on another tour.

Food tour New York city
Alex was exceptional. Her knowledge about the foods and culture was enriching. Highly recommend
Response from the operator: Really appreciate you writing this. Alex puts as much into the culture behind the food as the food itself, so it's good to see that part come through on the Chinatown and Little Italy food tour. Hope we get to feed you again on another one sometime.

Why this scores 79
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Chinatown and Little Italy Food Tour | Tasty Tours NYC: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for New York.
How much does Chinatown and Little Italy Food Tour | Tasty Tours NYC cost?
+
Prices start at $85 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in New York usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Chinatown and Little Italy Food Tour | Tasty Tours NYC take?
+
Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in New York is not rushed.
Is Chinatown and Little Italy Food Tour | Tasty Tours NYC worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 79 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 418 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in New York, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Chinatown and Little Italy Food Tour | Tasty Tours NYC?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Chinatown and Little Italy Food Tour | Tasty Tours NYC suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Chinatown and Little Italy Food Tour | Tasty Tours NYC?
+
Around 146 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in New York can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in New York and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Chinatown and Little Italy Food Tour | Tasty Tours NYC start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central New York within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in New York?
+
New York has more bookable experiences than any other city on Outty, and the quality spread is brutal. Observation decks are commoditised, so we score them on timed-entry reliability and sunset slots. Food tours and borough walks are where the ranking really separates operators, and the top scores in the city all come from small-group guides. On Outty we rank every New York experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Grand Canyon VIP Helicopter Tour, Half-Day Bus Tour of NYC Top Highlights, NYC Bus Tour of Brooklyn, Bronx, Queens: Art, Food & Sports. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit New York?
+
September to early November, and late April through June. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in New York?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
