Fantastic Day
Spent a fantastic day at Chichen Itza and Cenote Tsukan. Can't recommend our guide Fabian highly enough . He was extremely knowledgeable and interesting and bought the history or Chichen Itza to life. Our driver Heime, was kind and considerate .

Xcarat tour is a great value and experience
This was an incredible tour, we saw a lot of different places in the Yucatán peninsula and they were all worth the trip.

If you come to Cancun you have see Chichen Itza!
We took the Deluxe tour. It is an early start from some parts, 7am. You are transported to a transfer station in Cancun. Then you join the specific bus for your tour. The bus is spacious with USB charging points. Edgar and Pedro were our guide and driver. Breakfast was simple sandwich but nice. At Chichen we were split into two groups Spanish and English, given umbrella and water bottle, which was a nice touch. Hector did the English tour, very informative, but not a lot of time for free exploring after. There are lots of stalls there too, but much the same across them all. After the visit beers and soft drinks when you get back on board. Then a bus ride to Valladolid. Lunch in a small restaurant and time to wander the town was nice. Then to the Cénote. Advice is leave as much as you can on the bus, you won’t need suncream you are in a hole!!! There is a charge for the lockers. Amazing to swim in there though. Back on the bus and another beer/soft drink on the way home. Return journey gets to Cancun and they split for logistical reasons to drop you back your hotel. An amazing day and thoroughly well planned. Edgar was great fun and Pedro very professional!

Chichen/Cenote. The plus minus.
The excursion is a full day affair. 12 hours or so. From Cancun about 2.5hrs drive each way. Chichen was amazing. The guide from Xcaret was knowledgeable and engaging. After guided tour you only get 1 hour free time, which doesn't leave much room for exploration or visiting tjat many souvenir stalls. Lunch is great, hot buffet in a clean and spacious restaurant located at Cenote, but again you are not left with enough time. Neither to enjoy the food nor the Cenote. We took a quick dip for 15 minutes in between changing and getting ready for the bus. The 2.5hrs could be utilised better for serving dry sandwoch type food which then increases the time to enjoy the sites. I would go back and experience again.
