The local beers were paired with the pizza, hot dogs and Italian beef. The bike ride is windy on the way back but do able. Dan was a great guide and respected all bikers.

Great family ride with tastes of Chicago

We booked this bike tour because we thought it would be a fun and more active alternative to riding a tour bus around Chicago. We weren’t disappointed. Our tour started off a bit rainy, so we were provided with ponchos. Our tour guide, AJ, set an easy pace that our 9 year old could keep up with. We rode along Lake Michigan and up into the Gold Coast neighborhood, which was decked out for Halloween. We had a wonderful lunch of deep-dish pizza, including a gluten free pizza for me. We continued to ride and eat our way through Chicago in a fun and memorable experience. The bike ride was almost all flat so nobody struggled. This was absolutely one of the highlights of our trip.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for sharing such a thoughtful and detailed review! We’re thrilled to hear that choosing a Chicago Food Tour by bike turned out to be such a highlight of your trip and a fun, active alternative to a bus. Even with a little rain, it’s great to know the ponchos helped keep things comfortable and that AJ set a relaxed, safe pace your 9-year-old could enjoy — that’s exactly what we aim for on every Chicago Bike Tour. Riding along Lake Michigan, cruising through the Gold Coast (especially with those Halloween decorations 🎃), and enjoying classic deep-dish pizza — including a gluten-free option — is what makes this a true Food Tour in Chicago experience. We’re especially happy to hear how flat and approachable the route felt, making it a truly kid-friendly, stress-free Bike Tour in Chicago for the whole family. It’s why so many guests consider this one of the best Family-friendly Things to Do in Chicago, whether you’re visiting with kids or just want an easygoing Bicycle adventure. Thanks again for riding with us and for the kind words. Bobby’s Bike Hike & Food Tours is proud to be ranked Top 20 in the World, and feedback like yours reminds us why we love what we do. We hope to see your family back in Chicago and out riding with us again soon! 🚲🍕

Got me comfortable in the city

I was unsure about biking in Chicago but Nora made it easy. I am also not a city person and normally avoid them but this tour took me to places that I would not have seen or even thought to see while visiting. It really helped me be much more comfortable being in the city and walking around over the next couple days. Kind of like an ice breaker for me. My family very much enjoyed the food and sites. Thank you.

Hearing that your whole family enjoyed both the food and the sights reinforces why this tour is considered one of the best Family-friendly Things to Do in Chicago. From the gentle pace to the tasty stops, we work hard to keep the experience truly kid-friendly and fun for all comfort levels.
