Chiang Rai Tour from Chiang Mai

It is well organized, the guide was friendly and fun, the collective was comfortable. The food could have been better. Stops prior to Chiang Rai temples could have been avoided.

Great day trip from Chiang Mai to Chiang Rai with excellent guide and driver

We took a full-day tour from Chiang Mai to Chiang Rai with our amazing guide, Puma, and a very experienced (more than 10 years) driver. Puma was super friendly, always smiling, and shared so much interesting information along the way. It was a long 12-hour trip, but she kept the energy up the whole time. My dad wasn’t feeling well at one point, and Puma immediately helped us out. She made us feel really cared for without affecting the rest of the group — which says a lot about her professionalism and kindness. The driver also deserves a shoutout: he was not only very kind and attentive, but also drove responsibly and fast in a conscious way. We first visited a Kayan village, and Puma explained their culture with a lot of respect and sensitivity. Then we stopped at the Thaweesin Hot Springs for a quick and fun foot soak, and later visited the White Temple, the Blue Temple, and the Red Temple with amazing views. Lunch was included (simple Thai food), and we ended the day with coffee at Café Lalitta. The coffee was a bit pricey, but we got a discount, so it was worth it. Highly recommend this tour — and if you can, ask for Puma and her driver.

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Chiang Mai?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
