Worth the Trip!

We really enjoyed visiting Santichon and the hot spring. It is a long day due to the drive and the windy roads but the driver was helpful and friendly. This tour is a good option for a single day visit if you are short on time.

Was great once there!

This was quite the memorable experience as the journey from Chiang Mai to Pai was two hours of continuous turns on the road. We learned later that there are 800 turns on that stretch of road, and if you do not have a stomach of steel you are bound to feel it. Our guide was very sweet, however, got lost several times as he did not know the area very well, and did not speak very good English, although he tried. He was more of a driver and not much of a guide at all as we’ve experienced on other trips that we’ve really enjoyed. Our adventures once in Pai were wonderful and we would recommend this trip to those who can stomach the drive to and from. The hot springs and views were amazing!

Great trip but unorganised!

Overall it was a great trip and Pai is absolutely stunning! However, the reason why I can only give 3 stars is that the travel agency sold this tour wrong and there was a massive miscommunication between the agency and the driver. Basically me and my friend thought this was an actual tour where there was a tour guide and where the route was fairly organised and where there were things, such as lunch, included. Unfortunately, the driver didn't know that there was lunch or water included as the travel agency stated. Then the route itself was a bit unclear as well to the driver. Once in Pai we had to navigate him to the attractions as he didn't know the way. He basically thought that he only needs to drop us off at Pai and that's it. After we showed him our ticket and what's included he rang the travel agency and they luckily confirmed to him that lunch was included and he paid for us. Nonetheless the driver was very lovely and friendly and we had great conversations with him. By the end of the day it was not his fault that the agency didn't communicate the features of the tour to him and he was also very reliable, waited for us at the stops, and gave us enough time. To improve this tour, I would recommend to the travel agency that they communicate with the drivers well, provide clear driving instructions/maps, and that they update their tour description if there is only a booked driver and not a tour guide included.
