Very Bad experience!
We've been on countless bike tours (at least thirty) in various countries around the world. Europe, Latin America, Central America, Southeast Asia... This, however, was the worst experience we've ever had. Thailand Bikes Chiang Mai is run by an arrogant Dutchman. The first thing he said was, "I only accept cash, no cards, so he doesn't have to declare anything." We chose the "Chiang Mai Paradise Day Tour," which covered 45km of diverse, unique Thai scenery?? Price: THB 2390.00 per person! Quite pricey, especially for Thailand, so you should expect something in return, right? However, the trip included 22km along the Ping river and 22km back along the Ping river! We could have figured that out ourselves, of course, but we saved THB 2390.00 per person! The attractions: a coffee stop along the way, where the guide tried to convince us they'd grown the coffee themselves. Pottery: five children from a nearby school were allowed to have a bit of an amateur fun! The guide stayed behind us the entire trip. At every intersection, we had to wait five minutes for him to arrive. We think the man had never cycled before. Beside, his boss had given him a very old bike. Because we had to wait for him constantly, we asked if he was reachable on WhatsApp. Never heard of it! Upon arrival, we made our intentions. The Dutch owner only responded us on a arrogantly way!! "This company is really not worth the high prices they ask for their trips. Please, “Go elsewhere!"!
Response from the operator: Thank you for your review. To clarify matters, payment was indeed possible through PayPal if you had followed the booking confirmation instructions from our partner and contacted us to check availability before arriving. Instead, you showed up late without a confirmed booking. When you finally called, I arranged a guide at very short notice. Fortunately, I had someone on call for such situations, and he arrived promptly. From the start, you come over agressive and intimidating and raised concerns about pricing and demanded a 65 km ride instead of the standard 45 km. Despite this, I instructed our guide to extend the tour, as there were no other participants. He did so, taking you beyond 70 km and even including the ruins in the San Patong area — an addition not normally part of the itinerary. Our guide, who is very experienced and passionate about cycling and Thai culture, looked forward to sharing a day with two guests. He showed you local suburbs, rice fields, and authentic scenery. However, you pushed him far beyond the intended pace. While our guides cycle daily, they are not competitive road racers, and your speed exceeded the limits of a recreational tour. The accusation of “arrogance” came only after you referred to our guide as “a farmer on a bicycle for the first time.” This was disrespectful and unfair. Our team of guides has been with us for over 12 years, consistently praised for their knowledge, professionalism, and personality. They are part of our family, and I stand firmly behind them. Regardless of their backgrounds, each brings unique strengths to our tours, and none deserves to be demeaned in this way. Our tours are designed to be cultural, recreational experiences — not competitive races. We regret that you did not appreciate the efforts made to adapt the tour to your demands, but we cannot accept misrepresentations that undermine the dedication of our team. We wish you more pleasant experiences during the rest of your holiday.

A Great Bike Day Trip
We had the best guide ever with "We"! He took us to rice fields talked to us about them, which was very interesting. We visited Burmese children and saw how they lived. We went to a rice cracker family run factory and got to sample the goods. We went to a family run sticky rice business. A temple we went to was really different and very interesting. Our guide made it interesting -- he was simply terrific. I recommend this tour highly.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for joining our full day ride with Mr. Wee I will make sure he read your review. Warm regards, Fokke van Egmond

A fantastic tour of the Thai countryside
This bike tour is a must! Our tour guide Wit was very personable and shared a lot of information about the culture, Buddhism, farming life, and how the Thai shop for food. The terrain was flat so although I had not ridden a bike in 15 years the cycling was not at all difficult. We stopped at about 12 places along the way and Wit helped take pictures for us. The bikes were also in very good condition. Wit stopped to buy us cold drinks and more water when he thought we should have it. He was a great guide and really made the trip a terrific experience.
Response from the operator: Dear Sherry, Thank you for your lovely review about Chiang Masi Paradise full day ride with Mr.Wit. Its a pleasure reading you enjoyed the tour and his company. Warm regards, Fokke van Egmond

Why this scores 59
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Chiang Mai Paradise Full-Day Cycling Adventure Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Chiang Mai.
How much does Chiang Mai Paradise Full-Day Cycling Adventure Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $2500 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Chiang Mai usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Chiang Mai Paradise Full-Day Cycling Adventure Tour take?
+
Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Chiang Mai is not rushed.
Is Chiang Mai Paradise Full-Day Cycling Adventure Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 59 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.7/5 across 18 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Chiang Mai, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Chiang Mai Paradise Full-Day Cycling Adventure Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Chiang Mai Paradise Full-Day Cycling Adventure Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 12. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 8-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Chiang Mai Paradise Full-Day Cycling Adventure Tour?
+
Around 6 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Chiang Mai can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Chiang Mai and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Chiang Mai Paradise Full-Day Cycling Adventure Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Chiang Mai within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Chiang Mai?
+
On Outty we rank every Chiang Mai experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Half-Day Thai Cooking Class at Organic Farm in Chiang Mai, Full Day Thai Cooking at Farm (Chiang Mai), Thai and Akha Cooking Class in Chiang Mai. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Chiang Mai?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Chiang Mai?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
