Visit to Buddhist temple on the mountain top
The trip to Mt. Emei from Chengdu requires a long day, but our kind and friendly guide took good care of us. Even the clouds and mist enhanced the experience.

Silvia the guide was a lovely person & informative
Sylvia was very knowledgeable and a really nice guide. I personally would not recommend a private tour as very expensive and you are with lots of people most of the time . I had 2 hours in a car smelling of tobacco sadly , then two hours on a coach with lots of people to get to the walk way which was 20 mins to walk to cable car journey . Be prepared for a long day of mainly travelling and understandably uphill as it is a mountain. The weather is very unpredictable so I would recommend getting there as early as possible. If a clear day I am sure it would be amazing views. The temples were nice and good to appreciate the different cultures and learn .
Response from the operator: Dear Customer Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We sincerely appreciate your recognition of our tour guide, and we're glad to hear that aspect of your experience was positive. Regarding the distance from Chengdu to Mount Emei, we understand your concerns. However, as clearly stated in the itinerary, Mount Emei is located at a certain distance from Chengdu, approximately a two - hour drive. To ensure you could reach the summit in the most convenient way, we arranged a combination of transportation options, including shuttle buses, cable cars, and scenic area battery cars. This multi - mode transportation approach is the most efficient way to enjoy the beautiful scenery within a single day. We deeply apologize for any inconvenience caused by the crowded conditions at Mount Emei. As a renowned tourist destination, the number of visitors can peak unexpectedly, and this is indeed beyond our control. Concerning the issue about the driver, we've thoroughly investigated. The driver confirmed that he did not smoke inside the vehicle; we take your feedback seriously and will reinforce our guidelines to prevent any potential misunderstandings in the future. Weather is another factor that is completely beyond our control. Despite this, according to the itinerary, you spent 7 hours exploring the Mount Emei scenic area, and the weather remained relatively clear when you reached the summit. Finally, regarding the tour cost, the long distance from Chengdu and the admission fees for the Mount Emei scenic area, combined with the convenience of our private tour service and the use of multiple transportation methods, contribute to the overall price. You can verify this information online to understand the various factors influencing the cost. Thank you for your feedback Best regards, Qing

Emeishan
Our guide, Silvia, was very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. It was very crowded and the wait for the cable car was long but Emeishan was breathtakingly awesome. We enjoyed the lunch at the restaurant she selected. We would highly recommend this tour, from the transport, the guide, her recommendations and assistance in getting admission tickets.

Mythical Emeishan
Breathtaking climb up to the Emeishan. Crowded and foggy. Poor visibility. A lot of waiting for the cable car. Nice and cool

Why this scores 56
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Chengdu Private Day Tour to Emei Mountain with Lunch and Cable Car Ride: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Chengdu.
How much does Chengdu Private Day Tour to Emei Mountain with Lunch and Cable Car Ride cost?
+
Prices start at $318 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Chengdu usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Chengdu Private Day Tour to Emei Mountain with Lunch and Cable Car Ride take?
+
Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Chengdu is not rushed.
Is Chengdu Private Day Tour to Emei Mountain with Lunch and Cable Car Ride worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 56 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.7/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Chengdu, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Chengdu Private Day Tour to Emei Mountain with Lunch and Cable Car Ride?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Chengdu Private Day Tour to Emei Mountain with Lunch and Cable Car Ride suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Chengdu Private Day Tour to Emei Mountain with Lunch and Cable Car Ride?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Chengdu can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Chengdu and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Chengdu Private Day Tour to Emei Mountain with Lunch and Cable Car Ride start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Chengdu within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Chengdu?
+
On Outty we rank every Chengdu experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Chengdu Cooking Class with a Local Market Visit, Private Chengdu Day Tour: Giant Pandas and Jinsha Site Museum, Tuktuk Food Tour Through Chengdu's Local Eats. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Chengdu?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Chengdu?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
