Authentic Moroccan Craft and Warm Hospitality

This was the best day of my whole trip to Morocco! I visited a traditional weaving workshop, where I even wove a piece of fabric for a djellaba — the traditional Moroccan coat. I learned how to wind the threads that go into the shuttle, and they showed me the shop with beautiful handmade textiles. We drank delicious mint tea with foam and played the guitar. Later my guides showed me some amazing card tricks, gave me a small gift, and kindly walked me back. It was such a warm, unforgettable experience — truly the highlight of my week in Morocco!

    A great personal experience

We thoroughly enjoyed this. In addition to learning the traditional method of weaving (one of our group is an active weaver back in Australia, we were taken back to their family home and a cup of tea. A fabulous day.

Authentic wool weaving experience with lovely Chefchaouen family

Wonderful experience with beautiful family running the tour! My partner and I had a wonderful time making a fool of ourselves while learning how to weave the jillaba material with the master on a 300 year old loom. Afterwards we visited the father of the family in his store and were invited into the amazing family home for tea and card games on the rooftop. Highly recommend tours with this family for an authentic Chefchaouen experience!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your amazing review! It was a true pleasure having you both with us. We're so glad you enjoyed the weaving experience, the visit to our shop, and the rooftop tea and card games with the family. Your kind words mean a lot — you're always welcome back for more laughs and good memories in Chefchaouen!

    Memorable experience!

Experience in full immersion and authentic with Mourad and the weaver craftsman, very patient and also very gifted! We were able to discover, in a hidden workshop of Chefchaouen all the steps of the weaving of djellaba. Mourad is very welcoming and kind, we took the time to exchange and get to know each other and had very interesting exchanges. This experience will mark our journey for a long time to come. Mourad also offers other activities that we would have loved to discover! Chokran bezaf!

Response from the operator: Merci infiniment pour ce magnifique retour !

Chefchaouen Traditional Wool Weaving Workshop with Local Artisans: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Chefchaouen.

How much does Chefchaouen Traditional Wool Weaving Workshop with Local Artisans cost?

    +

Prices start at $29 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Chefchaouen usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Chefchaouen Traditional Wool Weaving Workshop with Local Artisans take?

    +

Plan for about 1.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Chefchaouen is not rushed.

Is Chefchaouen Traditional Wool Weaving Workshop with Local Artisans worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 62 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 7 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Chefchaouen, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Chefchaouen Traditional Wool Weaving Workshop with Local Artisans?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Chefchaouen Traditional Wool Weaving Workshop with Local Artisans suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Chefchaouen Traditional Wool Weaving Workshop with Local Artisans?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Chefchaouen can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Chefchaouen and add a light layer if any part of the 1.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Chefchaouen Traditional Wool Weaving Workshop with Local Artisans start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Chefchaouen within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Chefchaouen?

    +

On Outty we rank every Chefchaouen experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Chefchaouen Private Tour with Local Guide | Blue City Walk, Explore chefchaouen like a local, Atlas Mountains 2-Day Trek: Azzaden Valley Escape. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Chefchaouen?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Chefchaouen?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
