    3. Kasbah Museum

This majestic Kasbah was constructed in the 15th century, precisely in the year 1471, by Rachid Ben Ali. During this time, the attacks by Christians were quite frequent, as they sought to gain control of Morocco. This prompted the resistance movement, led by the Banu Rashid family, to declare a Holy War. Shortly thereafter, the same Banu family commissioned the construction of this imposing Kasbah to protect the city. The Kasbah included a mosque (Jama El Kebir) and various nearby dwellings, which were in turn surrounded and shielded by a wall, thus forming the core of the city of Chefchaouen, which rapidly grew and developed.

    6. Grand Mosque

    7. Bouzafer Mosque

The mosque was built by the Spanish in the 1920s, but never used. It fell into disrepair and remains closed, but the grounds out front make for a perfect place to behold the blue city and watch the sunset dip behind the green hills with a freshly squeezed orange juice in hand.
