    100% Worth it!!

This was such a great find! The weather was perfect, the guides were knowledgeable and friendly. The food was absolutely delicious and such a treat. Both ladies I went with loved it and plan on taking others back to do the tours again. I’m actually thinking of going back myself and would even do it solo! It’s a perfect day adventure that’s totally worth it.

Amazing experience - a must do in San Diego

My wife and I did this tour in early September 2026 and we had such an amazing time. Firstly, a big shout out and huge thank you to our guide and driver, Paul Anthony, who really made the experience. He was incredibly knowledgeable about San Diego & the local wineries, sharing loads of really interesting information throughout the trip. We visited two beautiful vineyards over 5 hours, both had their own 'personalities' and highlights, a really lovely atmosphere, great views, friendly staff, and obviously an amazing selection of wines. The tour was really well organised, with plenty of time to enjoy each vineyard so we didn't feel rushed. The food was fantastic too, especially the pizza and (huge!) salad we had at the second winery. The whole experience was relaxed, enjoyable and great value, and we couldn't have asked for a better introduction to the San Diego wine region. 5*, highly recommended!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful 5-star review! We’re delighted to hear that you and your wife had such an amazing time exploring San Diego’s wine country with us. We especially appreciate your kind words about Paul. His knowledge of San Diego and the local wine region, along with his passion for creating a relaxed and engaging wine tasting experience, is such an important part of what we strive to offer our guests. We’re also glad you enjoyed the unique character of both vineyards, the beautiful scenery, the wines, and the food, especially that famously generous salad and pizza! We love giving guests plenty of time at each winery to relax, take in the views, and truly enjoy the experience rather than feeling rushed. It was a pleasure having you with us, and we’re so happy that your tour provided a memorable introduction to San Diego wine country. Thank you again for the enthusiastic recommendation, and we hope to welcome you back to San Diego for another Tasty Adventure soon! Cheers! Shira Bliss

    Fantastic tour!

This wine tour was amazing! We visited 2 vineyards in 5 hours. Both vineyards were charming and the wines were great. We were served a wonderful Charcuterie tray at the first vineyard and a pizza and salad at the second. Our driver and guide, Paul Anthony was so knowledgeable about the San Diego area and the wines that we were tasting. Couldn’t ask for a better tour!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful 5-star review! We’re delighted to hear that you had such an amazing time exploring two of San Diego’s wineries with vineyards and enjoying the delicious food and wines. We’re so happy to hear that Paul made your experience memorable with his knowledge of San Diego, our local wine country, and the wines you tasted. We take great pride in providing not just a wine tour and transportation, but a personalized experience that combines great wine, beautiful countryside, delicious local food, and knowledgeable hospitality. Thank you for choosing San Diego Beer, Wine & Spirits Tours, and for taking the time to share your experience. We hope to welcome you back to San Diego wine country again soon!

    A great wine tour

My wife and I took the San Diego vineyards tour with Paul Anthony as our guide/driver and it was an excellent experience. Besides being an expert on wine, Paul Anthony also told us a lot about San Diego history along the way. It’s hard to imagine a more perfect host. The first stop was the Bernardo Winery, where we learned about its history while having a delicious flight of wines (there were six different flight options!) and enjoyed a tasty charcuterie platter. The next stop was the Cordiano Winery, which had amazing views. We had another tasty flight there along with a salad and a delicious pizza. (My wife has a gluten allergy, along with other food allergies, and they were able to accommodate them all at both wineries.) This was definitely one of the most fun experiences we’ve had in a while.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much, Chris, for your wonderful 5-star review! We’re thrilled to hear that you and your wife had such a fun experience on your San Diego wine tour with Paul. Paul will be delighted to know you enjoyed not only the wine but also the San Diego history and stories he shared. We’re especially glad that Bernardo Winery and Cordiano Winery were highlights of your day. The combination of wine tasting, great food, beautiful vineyard views, and the unique character of each winery is what makes out San Diego winery tour so special. We are always happy to accommodate food allergies. We always want our guests to feel comfortable and well cared for throughout their San Diego wine country experience. Thank you again for choosing us for your Chauffeured Vineyards Adventure. It was our pleasure hosting you both, and we hope to see you again soon! Cheers! Shira Bliss

Chauffeured Adventure to Local San Diego Vineyards: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for La Jolla.

How much does Chauffeured Adventure to Local San Diego Vineyards cost?

    +

Prices start at $246 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in La Jolla usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Chauffeured Adventure to Local San Diego Vineyards take?

    +

Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in La Jolla is not rushed.

Is Chauffeured Adventure to Local San Diego Vineyards worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 74 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 81 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in La Jolla, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Chauffeured Adventure to Local San Diego Vineyards?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Chauffeured Adventure to Local San Diego Vineyards suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Chauffeured Adventure to Local San Diego Vineyards?

    +

Around 28 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in La Jolla can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in La Jolla and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Chauffeured Adventure to Local San Diego Vineyards start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central La Jolla within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in La Jolla?

    +

La Jolla is San Diego's best water day: kayak tours into the sea caves, snorkelling with leopard sharks in the ecological reserve, coastal walks with sea lions and sunset sails. On Outty we rank every La Jolla experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Incredible Slot Canyons to the Pacific, Cali Dreaming Electric Bike Tour of La Jolla and Pacific Beach, SoCal Riviera Electric Bike Tour of La Jolla and Mount Soledad. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit La Jolla?

    +

June to September for warm water, year-round for kayaking. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in La Jolla?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
