Viator gave us EXCELLENT service and a refund for the guide's No Show!
Our Tour Guide Never Showed. We got to the gate at Victoria Memorial before 630 am which was the meeting time and were there until after 730 am. Both Viator and we messaged this company several times that morning while we were there with no response until about 2 hours after the meeting time. Additionally, Viator and we called their office number several times with no response and no opportunity to leave a voice mail. Later they said no one is in the office until 9 am so that's why no one answered! So, we request a refund from this vendor for the lack of a tour this morning that neither Viator nor we could establish contact with the company or the tour guide to see what the issue was. The refused to refund our fees. So, we appealed to Viator, they investigated, and Viator gave us the refund. Now that is true customer service!

City of Joy
What an exciting morning in the vibrant chaos of Kolkata! Paulami guided us by bus, subway, auto rickshaw, and on foot on a whirlwind journey through the city. We began at sunrise at Victoria Memorial Park before diving into the color of the flower market below Rabindra Setu. From there, we spent time alongside the Hooghly River and walked the bazaar district before stopping for breakfast at an historic eatery. We ended the morning with a quiet, reflective visit to Mother Teresa’s Mother House. Along the way, we learned so much about the culture of Kolkata and its colonial past from a Bengali perspective. Paulami is a warm, engaging storyteller who brings the city to life with depth and passion. An unforgettable experience—highly recommended.

Perfect name for a tour
Go! This was a great tour before the day gets too hot. We had the best guide we could ever hope for and her knowledge, joy, and flexibility made for the most amazing day. Kolkata is beautiful and it really opened itself up to us as it awakened.

Why this scores 67
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Chasing The Sun Experience Kolkata's Culture: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Kolkata.
How much does Chasing The Sun Experience Kolkata's Culture cost?
+
Prices start at $35 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Kolkata usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Chasing The Sun Experience Kolkata's Culture take?
+
Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Kolkata is not rushed.
Is Chasing The Sun Experience Kolkata's Culture worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 67 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.5/5 across 8 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Kolkata, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Chasing The Sun Experience Kolkata's Culture?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Chasing The Sun Experience Kolkata's Culture suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Chasing The Sun Experience Kolkata's Culture?
+
Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Kolkata can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Kolkata and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Chasing The Sun Experience Kolkata's Culture start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Kolkata within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Kolkata?
+
On Outty we rank every Kolkata experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Private Sunrise Taj Mahal Tour from Delhi By Car -All inclusive, Bengali Nights Kolkata Food Tour with 13+ Tastings, Cultural Confluence of Kolkata - Culture Kaleidoscope Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Kolkata?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Kolkata?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
