Great pedicab drivers, terrible/scam-oriented management
Although the pedicab drivers themselves were great, I would rate this business zero stars overall for the extremely poor customer service experience/scam the management tried to perpetrate on us. Again, this is no reflection on the drivers themselves, including a great guy named Saeed who did his best to make things right and ensure we got our tour, but I have to warn people about the management of this company since they are unethical and totally unconcerned about the safety of their customers as well as their drivers. The tour we booked just happened to be scheduled for a time when a major storm was headed for Manhattan. When we saw the weather service alerts and we could see the dark clouds gathering, about 30 minutes prior to our tour starting, I called Viator to find out about rescheduling due to the weather. After waiting on hold several times for about 30 minutes I was finally told by Viator that it was up to the tour operator and that the tour operator was planning to operate as normally scheduled despite the oncoming storm. The drivers themselves understood our concern, particularly because we had two very young children with us, so Saeed called his boss to ask for a reschedule on our behalf. Saeed’s boss then told him we can only reschedule if we agreed to pay an extra $50 each per pedicab. We had already prepaid for the tour via Viator and I was told our payment was nonrefundable so we were left having to choose between paying an extra $150 to reschedule our three pedicabs or going ahead with the tour as scheduled with dark storm clouds and heavy rain barreling down on us. Not wanting to the pay extra fee we reluctantly told the drivers, fine then we will go ahead with this ridiculous tour as planned and we jumped into the pedicabs. At that point the drivers realized how insane this was as the rain began to come down heavily and dark clouds told anyone with common sense that lightning strikes were also imminent. Saeed then told us he would make sure we could reschedule for the following morning at 8 am, which we had to accept as it was the only time he had available, and he would ensure we were not charged an extra fee. So the company did their best to rip us off, but luckily sane and sensible heads prevailed. I would never book with this company again and I would warn anyone else against doing so as well. There is no way you should book a tour with a company that threatens to consume your entire prepaid fee if nasty weather interrupts the tour unless you pay an additional fee like this. Absolutely horrendous. Although we did not want to do an 8 am tour the next day, left with no choice we did it anyhow and the tour was great. Saeed and his two colleagues were very well informed, courteous and professional. We enjoyed our time with them greatly. They deserve five stars, but their unethical company deserves 0 stars.
Response from the operator: Thank you for recognizing that our drivers were courteous, professional, and did their best to help you. They represent our company, and people naturally judge a company by its drivers. That being said, you booked this tour approximately 45 minutes before the starting time. Why didn’t you check the weather or simply look at the sky before booking? Once you booked, we immediately assigned 3 drivers. They traveled from 59th Street to 83rd Street to pick you up. We had already committed to paying them $150 for that trip. Then, after they arrived, you asked to reschedule because of the incoming rain. If we rescheduled, we would have had to pay our drivers another $150 for the additional trip. You paid approximately $180 for the tour. Why should our company have to pay $300 in driver costs because of a last-minute decision that was made by you ? We did our part. You booked the tour, and our drivers were there for you. When Saeed called us, we explained that rescheduling was possible, but the additional driver cost had to be covered. You should learn paying off your mistakes. You spent a great deal of time writing about our company, but unfortunately did not mention your own responsibility in the situation. You also arrived 25 minutes late the following morning, which affected our drivers and our schedule. We appreciate your kind words about Saeed and the other drivers. They truly did their best. But the full situation should be presented fairly. If we could, we would also rate you -0 stars as a disrespectful customer!!! Thank you for your time, and we hope you will read this from our perspective as well.

Why this scores 62
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Central Park Pedicab Tour ( starting - Natural History Museum ): questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for New York.
How much does Central Park Pedicab Tour ( starting - Natural History Museum ) cost?
+
Prices start at $48 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in New York usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Central Park Pedicab Tour ( starting - Natural History Museum ) take?
+
Plan for about 1 hour from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in New York is not rushed.
Is Central Park Pedicab Tour ( starting - Natural History Museum ) worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 62 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 31 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in New York, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Central Park Pedicab Tour ( starting - Natural History Museum )?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Central Park Pedicab Tour ( starting - Natural History Museum ) suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Central Park Pedicab Tour ( starting - Natural History Museum )?
+
Around 11 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in New York can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in New York and add a light layer if any part of the 1-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Central Park Pedicab Tour ( starting - Natural History Museum ) start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central New York within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in New York?
+
New York has more bookable experiences than any other city on Outty, and the quality spread is brutal. Observation decks are commoditised, so we score them on timed-entry reliability and sunset slots. Food tours and borough walks are where the ranking really separates operators, and the top scores in the city all come from small-group guides. On Outty we rank every New York experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Grand Canyon VIP Helicopter Tour, Half-Day Bus Tour of NYC Top Highlights, NYC Bus Tour of Brooklyn, Bronx, Queens: Art, Food & Sports. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit New York?
+
September to early November, and late April through June. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in New York?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
