Small group tour to the less crowded historical sites!
Great full-day tour to the less crowded sites in the mid-counties. Mick was our guide for the day - he was extremely knowledgeable and full of stories and anecdotes. Prepare yourself for a bit of walking in the hills and fields for a couple of the sites - it can be somewhat rugged terrain. Lots of opportunities to grab a coffee and the lunch spot was wonderful as well. I would highly recommend it as the small group charm was abundant!!

Fascinating tour, but somewhat rushed.
The tour is on a tight schedule, so you may not be able to stay at a specific stop as long as you would like. Also, the bus will leave without you! And at the Hill of Tara, you are on your own to understand what you are looking at. But there are interpretive signs before the path to the sight, and a booklet for purchase in the gift shop that explains a lot.

Too Little Time
The tour was not as long as expected. We were expecting an approximate 10 hour tour. We left around 8:15am due to traffic (understandable) but returned to Dublin about 4:15. We felt the effects of the shortened trip throughout our experience. We were at Loughcrew, the Hill of Tara, and Trim Castle for a maximum of 30 minutes. We felt very rushed by our driver and expected to be at each location for at least an hour as it was listed in the tour itinerary. Between each stop, the driver drove at a high rate of speed and we saw him run multiple red lights. At one point, he mentioned that he took the wrong bus that day so maybe that’s why he rushed the tour. The highlight of our trip was Fore Distillery where we had enough time to sample liquors and hear about how they’re made. Overall, the things we were most looking forward to were rushed, the driver was unsafe, and we were disappointed with our experience.
