memorable experience

Highly recommend this hot air balloon tour! 🎈 Everything was amazing from start to finish, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. The staff were extremely helpful, friendly and professional, making us feel comfortable and well looked after throughout the experience. The views from the hot air balloon were absolutely incredible and definitely one of the highlights of our trip to Mexico. The tour also included entry to the archaeological site and lunch, which made the whole experience even better and very well organised. An amazing experience that I would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Mexico! 🇲🇽🎈⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Not a scam, terrible communication, great experience

It was honestly great and an amazing ride, very smooth, provided coffee and bread before takeoff with complementary shots. Sadly miscommunication brought it from 5 to 3 stars for a few reasons. They had it incorrectly listed that there was entry to the Archeological Site with our package and upon the whats app verification it turned out we did not get entry with our package. We also received little to no information about our flight until 12 hours before other than the meeting location and when I contacted them through Viator, I got one response that didn’t answer any of my questions. We had to continuously contact through whats app, calling and messaging until we finally got confirmation of the meeting place and time. (We chose to not use their transportation services so we needed to know exactly where and when we needed to be there). Cancellation is allowed until 24 hours before the reservation and they said they’d send me the trip info 24 hrs before so we honestly thought it was a scam due to all these factors but we decided to trust the process and not cancel. It all worked out in the end and was an amazing experience but we were genuinely concerned of the validity. Would book again but directly through the company’s website. For you first timers this is a real company and everyone in person was really nice and helpful.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience with us. We're truly happy to hear that you enjoyed the flight and that our crew helped make it a smooth and memorable experience. We sincerely apologize for the confusion regarding the archaeological site tickets and for the lack of clear communication before your flight. We completely understand how frustrating and concerning that must have been, especially when trying to confirm important details before your trip. Your feedback is incredibly valuable, and we're already working to improve our communication process with guests booking through third-party platforms to ensure all information is clear and delivered in a timely manner. We're grateful that you chose to trust the process and that, in the end, you had an amazing experience with us. We truly appreciate your recommendation and hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back for another unforgettable flight in the future. Safe travels!

Magnificent Views

My review is mixed. When I booked a trip, I put my weight in as requested. When we arrived, all the passengers were weighed and I was charged an additional $40 US. Granted I’m a pretty hefty guy. I guess they use more fuel. Secondly, we requested an English speaking guide so that we could learn some facts about the pyramids while we were flying over them. We had a Spanish-speaking pilot. Luckily somebody next to us was able to translate. Not a huge deal, but he was giving us instructions in case of an emergency and it made me a little nervous, that I wouldn’t be able to understand his instructions in a real emergency. Once the balloon was in the air, the ride was very smooth and the views from the sky were amazing. We were hit with pleas for tips and exorbitant prices for the pictures for the photos that were taken. Overall it was a positive experience. It was definitely worth the money in my opinion.

Response from the operator: Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to share such a detailed review. We truly appreciate your honest feedback, as it helps us continue improving our service. We sincerely apologize for the confusion regarding the additional weight charge. This policy is in place to ensure the safety of all passengers and the proper balance of the balloon, but we understand that it can be frustrating if it isn't communicated clearly in advance. We'll continue working to make this information more transparent during the booking process. We also regret that your flight was not led by an English-speaking pilot as requested. We understand how important clear communication is, especially when safety instructions are involved. Your comments have been shared with our team so we can improve the coordination of language preferences whenever possible. Regarding the photos and tipping, we appreciate your feedback. While gratuities are always optional and our photo packages are offered as an additional service, we understand your perspective and will use your comments to review how these options are presented to our guests. We're delighted to know that, despite these inconveniences, you enjoyed the smooth flight, the breathtaking views, and felt the experience was worth it. It was a pleasure having you fly with us, and we hope to welcome you back in the future for an even better experience. Warm regards, Magic Balloons Team

My experience was incredible, beyond words!

The trip was unbelievable. Beautiful sites of the pyramids and the team made everyone feel very safe. Sammy was our hostess & she was fantastic & answered all our questions. We also received drone videos & photos from a great guy who I didn’t catch his name. Honestly, especially with the outstanding price for the quality, it’s definitely a must!

Response from the operator: We are incredibly grateful for your comments and for flying with us.

CDMX - TEOTIHUACAN Hot air balloon flight: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Mexico City.

How much does CDMX - TEOTIHUACAN Hot air balloon flight cost?

+

Prices start at $2800 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Mexico City usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does CDMX - TEOTIHUACAN Hot air balloon flight take?

+

Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Mexico City is not rushed.

Is CDMX - TEOTIHUACAN Hot air balloon flight worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 53 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 19 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Mexico City, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule CDMX - TEOTIHUACAN Hot air balloon flight?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is CDMX - TEOTIHUACAN Hot air balloon flight suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 10. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 5-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book CDMX - TEOTIHUACAN Hot air balloon flight?

+

Around 7 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Mexico City can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Mexico City and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does CDMX - TEOTIHUACAN Hot air balloon flight start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Mexico City within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Mexico City?

+

On Outty we rank every Mexico City experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Frida Kahlo VIP [Museum Tickets Included] Walk, Markets & Churros, Local Foodie Adventure CDMX: Tacos & more with Sherpa Food Tours, Mexico City Historical Centre Food Tour with 7 Tastings & Drinks. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Mexico City?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Mexico City?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
