    Not what was advertised

We scheduled this rappelling adventure directly through Dreampeaks. They advertised minimum age to participate was 10 years old. They messaged the day before and said we needed to do a different tour that did not include rappelling because my 12 and 14 years old kids were too young. The new tour was cliff jumping and would be an extra 30 minutes drive further. I explained that we had gone cliff jumping at a different location the day before and really wanted to rappel and that my kids had experience rappelling. But, they said cliff jumping would be more fun and we needed to do it. Unfortunately, my son had a medical emergency later that day and we had to take him to the emergency room. we were not able to attend the trip. So of course we didn’t receive a refund since it was inside the cancellation period.

Response from the operator: Dear Shayla, First of all, we are truly sorry to hear about your son's medical emergency. We sincerely hope he made a full recovery and that everything is well with your family. We would like to clarify one point for future readers. We did not ask you to change tours because of your children's ages, nor did we require you to do a different activity. Before the tour, we explained the differences between the canyons and recommended the Júcar canyon because many families find it more dynamic and enjoyable. At the same time, we also confirmed that if your preference was a canyon with rappelling, we could instead go to Somosierra or Arbillas. After discussing the options, you chose the recommended family canyon. Later that day, you informed us that, due to your son's medical emergency, you would not be able to attend. We completely understood the seriousness of the situation and were genuinely sorry to receive your message. However, your cancellation was made less than 10 hours before the scheduled start of the activity. By that point, guides had already been assigned, logistics had been arranged, and we were no longer able to fill the reserved places. For this reason, and in accordance with the cancellation policy accepted at the time of booking, we were unfortunately unable to issue a refund. We always try to treat every guest fairly while applying the same booking conditions to everyone. We appreciate your feedback and sincerely wish you and your family all the best. Gabriel Blanco

Caving and Rappelling Adventure in Madrid with Transport: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Madrid.

How much does Caving and Rappelling Adventure in Madrid with Transport cost?

    +

Prices start at $236 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Madrid usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Caving and Rappelling Adventure in Madrid with Transport take?

    +

Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Madrid is not rushed.

Is Caving and Rappelling Adventure in Madrid with Transport worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 32 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (2/5 across 1 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable outdoors in Madrid, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Caving and Rappelling Adventure in Madrid with Transport?

    +

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is Caving and Rappelling Adventure in Madrid with Transport suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Caving and Rappelling Adventure in Madrid with Transport?

    +

Around 0 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Madrid can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Madrid and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Caving and Rappelling Adventure in Madrid with Transport start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Madrid within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Madrid?

    +

On Outty we rank every Madrid experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Madrid Essential: Historic Center, Plaza Mayor & Royal Palace, Madrid Walking Tour from Puerta del Sol to Retiro Park, Madrid Oscuro: Torture, Ghosts, Crimes and Legends. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Madrid?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Madrid?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
