Complete Rip Off. Almost $400 in hidden fees.
When we arrived at the departure we were told we had to pay $49 USD extra PER PERSON for taxes alone. Then they charged us 20 pesos per dollar for extra exchange costs. THEN they charged us 5% more to process the payment. Over $400 in extra fees for 4 ppl. As well as they kept insisting payment didn’t go through and now I have MULTIPLE charges for $300+ on my credit card. They also did zero translations in English even though they said they would. And at the end of it all the tried to pressure us to tip and made sure everyone on the boat knew that we didn’t due to the outrageous amount of over charging. Would absolutely NEVER recommend this service to anyone.
Response from the operator: First of all, we apologize for the inconvenience and the unpleasant experience you had during your visit. Our goal is always to provide a transparent and enjoyable experience, and it's clear that on this occasion we didn't meet your expectations. The additional $48 USD fee corresponds to mandatory government port taxes, which are not part of our commercial fare and are described in the published product information. We will review how to improve our pre-trip communication to avoid this misunderstanding. What concerns us most about your feedback are the duplicate charges on your card and the behavior of the staff on the boat. We take financial transparency and respect for our clients extremely seriously. Please write to us at cancunmagictours@outlook.com and send us a copy of those charges so our accounting department can immediately trace your payments and refund any incorrect charges. Regarding your comment about the staff, we have already held a meeting to ensure this does not happen again.

No snorkeling if over 65
I specifically wanted to take my dad snorkeling. Was informed on the boat that snorkeling is not allowed over the age of 65. Should have been informed before we booked. Also, because the boat was mostly Hispanic very little instruction was in English. When I snorkeled it was like 50 mice in a fish bowl. People swimming over each other, mixing with other groups surprised no one drowned. The remainder of the trip was excellent Food was very good and crew was excellent.
Response from the operator: That is a security measure, the priority for our travelers is safety in the activities, in any case the comments will be forwarded to the General Management.

Are there better events
It was mediocre, buffet very cheap.Service goes. We expected more for the money. On the island the beach was a joke.
Response from the operator: We will make the comments to the restaurant!

Amazing Day Trip to Isla Mujeres!
My boyfriend, my son, and I went on a catamaran tour to Isla Mujeres from Cancún, and we had such an amazing time! It was the perfect mix of adventure and relaxation, and honestly, one of the highlights of our vacation. The crew was super friendly and fun they kept the energy high the whole time with music, drinks, and good vibes. We got to snorkel in the most beautiful turquoise water, and even my son (who was a bit nervous at first) ended up loving it. The guides were great with him and made sure everyone felt safe and had fun. Sailing on the catamaran was such a vibe just laying back, soaking up the sun, and watching the ocean go by. When we got to Isla Mujeres, we had time to explore, relax on the beach, and enjoy a nice lunch. The whole experience felt easygoing and well-organized. It was a perfect day for both adults and kids. We laughed a lot, took tons of pictures, and made great memories as a family. Highly recommend this tour if you're visiting Cancún!
Response from the operator: Thank you very much for your comments!

Why this scores 55
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Catamaran Tour to Isla Mujeres Cancun: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cancun.
How much does Catamaran Tour to Isla Mujeres Cancun cost?
+
Prices start at $25 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cancun usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Catamaran Tour to Isla Mujeres Cancun take?
+
Plan for about 7 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cancun is not rushed.
Is Catamaran Tour to Isla Mujeres Cancun worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 55 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4/5 across 7 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cancun, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Catamaran Tour to Isla Mujeres Cancun?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Catamaran Tour to Isla Mujeres Cancun suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 7-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Catamaran Tour to Isla Mujeres Cancun?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cancun can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cancun and add a light layer if any part of the 7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Catamaran Tour to Isla Mujeres Cancun start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cancun within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Cancun?
+
On Outty we rank every Cancun experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Early Access to Chichen Itza All Inclusive with Valladolid and Cenote Swim, Whale Shark Tour from Cancun, Playa del Carmen, Tulum and Riviera Maya, Small-Group 3 Hidden Cenotes Adventure with Tequila Tasting. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Cancun?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Cancun?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
