    Wasted day

Snorkeling was ok, but the whole day was 13 hours from our hotel and back, of which 30 minutes was spent Snorkeling and 1 hour on the beach and the rest was painfully long transfers, waiting and slow transport. Took hours to get everyone on and off the beach and boat. Felt quite disorganized and a waste of a day to be honest

Beautiful Island but too long transportation time

Catalina Island and its beach are beautiful, the snorkeling experience is excellent, and the staff are nice and friendly. However, the transportation time is far too long. Out of the full 12-hour tour, there are less than 4 hours of actual time to enjoy the island and activities, which significantly reduces the overall experience.

    Great but long travel

It was a good experience the only but is the travel time- to get there it’s minimum 3hours. It took us about 3 different cars to get there. The catamaran is great. The crew is amazing it is just the long travel for it.

    Awful experience

It’s a major scam. Out of 11 hours on this trip we spent 6 hours on a bus, 3.5 hours on boat and only 1.5h on the island. We were told we’ll be picked up at the hotel lobby at 7.20, then we were told we need to walk up tot the security gate which is a few hundred meters away. The driver stopped multiple times for now obvious reason at different places and then at a large gas station where we spent 30 mins before we were told we’ll stay there for another half hour to pick up other passengers. You don’t get up at 6 am and pay money to by stuck for hours at a gas station in your holiday. The driver didn’t speak English at all and was rude. He played local music VERY loud and just ignored multiple requests to turn it down. He also drove dangerously. When the boat was approaching the island we were told there’ll be a 20 min stop for snorkeling. There was no fish there, absolutely nothing. The guide showed two stars, and that was it. Also they didn’t provide fins although it was stated that snorkeling equipment was included. Also no “wall” of the reef that was promised in the description. The island is nice but there are tons of garbage, very old sun beds, people who want you to buy souvenirs and are very pushy. The food was very basic and poor quality, and the eating area had a disgusting smell, so we didn’t want to stay there long. The people on the boat also play extremely loud music all the time and completely ignore the passengers’ requests. We and other people asked multiple times to turn it down but they just went on. The girl who was part of the crew danced and insisted everyone clapped. Overall, it was a total waste of time and money, don’t recommend at all

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Punta Cana.

How much does Catalina Island Tour Package Deal, from Punta Cana cost?

    +

How long does Catalina Island Tour Package Deal, from Punta Cana take?

    +

Plan for about 10 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Punta Cana is not rushed.

Is Catalina Island Tour Package Deal, from Punta Cana worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 53 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.6/5 across 8 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Punta Cana, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Catalina Island Tour Package Deal, from Punta Cana?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Catalina Island Tour Package Deal, from Punta Cana suitable for kids and families?

How far in advance should I book Catalina Island Tour Package Deal, from Punta Cana?

    +

Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Punta Cana can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Punta Cana and add a light layer if any part of the 10-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Catalina Island Tour Package Deal, from Punta Cana start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Punta Cana within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Punta Cana?

    +

On Outty we rank every Punta Cana experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Punta Cana Zipline - 8 lines and a suspenseful hanging bridge, Punta Cana Buggy or ATV Tour with Macao Beach, Cave and Tastings, Buggy Excursion to Macau Beach and Natural Cave. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Punta Cana?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Punta Cana?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
