History on Two Wheels

We had such a great time learning the history of Colombia through Heraldo’s lenses while biking through the city. Heraldo helped us discover new places and retrace our steps through common locations. Canoeing through the mangroves, riding along the beach and having lunch in La Boquilla was my favorite part. I highly recommend this tour. Thanks Heraldo!

Response from the operator: That is the most fun tour ever! I love doing it and spending time with new friends.

Unique Local Experience

If you are looking to experience Cartagena like a local and see the true beauty of this city off the beaten path, then this is the tour for you! Gerardo is a fabulous tour guide and took us all through the different neighborhoods of the city, trying new foods and hearing personal stories about his family’s history and connections to these places. While the trip to La Boquilla is further from the walled city, it was well worth it! It was absolutely amazing to see a local fishing village, take a ride through the mangroves and eat a delicious lunch on the beach at a local spot, experiencing the beauty of this city in a new way. Gracias Gerardo!!

Response from the operator: Thank you for those beautiful comments that come from the bottom of your heart. After the tour I ended missing you! Please give my regards to your Dad for such a marvelous daughter!

You get to do a ton of bike riding and see a lot of the city!

Geraldo was a great guide. He is very attentive and puts together a truly unique experience getting to see a part of the city. Most people would never be able to venture into which is the fisherman’s village.

Response from the operator: You're so right about that and I totally enjoy going there too. I love riding and showing the best of my city.

Cartagena-Boquilla Bike Ride Adventure: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cartagena.

How much does Cartagena-Boquilla Bike Ride Adventure cost?

+

Prices start at $115 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cartagena usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Cartagena-Boquilla Bike Ride Adventure take?

+

Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cartagena is not rushed.

Is Cartagena-Boquilla Bike Ride Adventure worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 72 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 24 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cartagena, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Cartagena-Boquilla Bike Ride Adventure?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Cartagena-Boquilla Bike Ride Adventure suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 8. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 6-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Cartagena-Boquilla Bike Ride Adventure?

+

Around 8 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cartagena can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cartagena and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Cartagena-Boquilla Bike Ride Adventure start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cartagena within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Cartagena?

+

On Outty we rank every Cartagena experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Cartagena Antigua & Barrio Getsemani group with audio system, Historic Center & Getsemaní Shared Tour in Cartagena, Cartagena VIP Boat Tour: Rosario Islands & Snorkel. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Cartagena?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Cartagena?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
