In fact, hundreds of years ago, Roman emperors Augustus and later Tiberius used to bathe here during the summer, when they relocated to the seaside villa that still stands on the coast a few steps from the establishment.

4. Punta Carena Lighthouse

   The Punta Carena lighthouse is the second largest in Italy in terms of lighting power (first is Genoa), and it's also one of the oldest: it was first lit in 1867. The best time to appreciate its magic is at sunset; in fact, this is one of the few points on the coast of Capri where you can watch the sun set into the sea.

Reached out Punta Ventroso, we will take a break on board where we will relax to the rhythm of music, enjoy a rich aperitif with dry and fresh snacks, toast with prosecco and limoncello, and take a few dips. The more adventurous can reach the shore, which will be just a few meters away, to get a closer look at the beauties of this pebble, rock, and ancient construction-filled stretch of beach.

   We will literally cross the myth. Here lies the Mermaid's Rock. Same from the Odissey, where they tried to lure Ulysses and his sailors.

12. We will observe this sheer cliff overlooking the sea, approximately 297 meters high, near Villa Jovis. According to legend, the Roman emperor Tiberius would have condemned prisoners to be thrown off this cliff, and after falling into the sea, they would be beaten with oars and sticks by a team of sailors until death.
