Highly recommend!!!

Patrick was very knowledgeable about the Lion’s Head hike, local plants along the hike, and different areas of Cape Town. He was very intentional about taking time to give us breaks during our hike and during those times he shared his knowledge. Patrick was very kind to find us the best view points at the top of Lion’s Head, to take pictures of us, and to provide us with coffee and tea right before sunrise. We very much enjoyed our hike with Patrick as our guide.

Response from the operator: Thanks so much for your wonderful review! It was a real pleasure sharing the Lion's Head sunrise hike with you. I'm delighted you enjoyed learning about the local plants, Cape Town, and the stories behind the areas we passed along the way. Taking time to enjoy the journey is just as important as reaching the summit, so I'm glad the breaks and viewpoints added to your experience. It was also my pleasure to capture some photos for you and share a warm cup of coffee and tea while we waited for the sunrise. Thank you again for your kind words and recommendation—I hope to welcome you back for another adventure in Cape Town soon!

Glorious sunrise and fabulous guide

We went for the sunrise hike with Patrick and had a wonderful experience! We had a group of 5 coworkers and because of schedules we booked kind of late, but Patrick was extremely accommodating and super responsive. He had great stories for us and made all of us feel safe with an in the dark hike. A first for most of us. We didn’t know how the weather would be but we were treated to a glorious sunrise. I would definitely recommend this excursion to others, Patrick is the best!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful review! It was a real pleasure guiding your group, and I'm delighted I could accommodate your booking despite the short notice. Watching the sunrise from Lion's Head is always a special experience, and I'm so glad the weather rewarded us with such beautiful views. I'm pleased to hear you all felt safe and enjoyed the stories along the way. Thank you again for your kind recommendation. Cape Town: Lion's Head Hike Sunrise coffee/tea or Sunset: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cape Town.

How much does Cape Town: Lion's Head Hike Sunrise coffee/tea or Sunset cost?

+

Prices start at $970 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cape Town usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Cape Town: Lion's Head Hike Sunrise coffee/tea or Sunset take?

+

Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cape Town is not rushed.

Is Cape Town: Lion's Head Hike Sunrise coffee/tea or Sunset worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 76 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 88 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cape Town, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Cape Town: Lion's Head Hike Sunrise coffee/tea or Sunset?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Cape Town: Lion's Head Hike Sunrise coffee/tea or Sunset suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 12. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 4-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Cape Town: Lion's Head Hike Sunrise coffee/tea or Sunset?

+

Around 31 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cape Town can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cape Town and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Cape Town: Lion's Head Hike Sunrise coffee/tea or Sunset start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cape Town within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Cape Town?

+

On Outty we rank every Cape Town experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Cape of Good Hope and Boulders Penguins Day Tour from Cape Town, Table Mountain, Boulders Penguins and Cape point Day Tour, Wine Tour: Paarl, Franschhoek & Stellenbosch incl 3 wineries. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Cape Town?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Cape Town?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
