no need to book in advance
I want to give a shout out to Ilha A- Rent-A-Car company in Ponta Delgado S. Miguel ,Azores. From the reviews in the forum on rental cars, it made it seem like it was extremely difficult, especially to get an automatic. But going through this company and dealing with Paula and her crew made it painless. We were out walking about the town and we realized we wanted to get a rental car for the next day. We saw this place and we just walked in; told them what we wanted and Paula was so accommodating. We got an automatic for like $10 more a day; a nice car, wonderful service and on top of that when we return the car after two days rental they took us immediately to the airport at no extra charge! it's a wonderful company to deal with. I will look for them whenever I go anywhere near Portugal.
