    About this experience

What makes this experience unique is that we are about to enjoy it not in a typical " touristic" way, but the way greeks do it. SWIMMING AND GREEK LUNCH : as a local i know the best spots for food and swimming ( only few know): after the coffee break we will enjoy swimming at one of the best beaches in athens and then taste the delicious greek cuisine( fresh seafood or " souvlaki) at the best local tavernas.i was in the restaurant bussiness for years so i know the best tavernas in town. SOUNION TEMPLE OF THE POSEIDON: the second part of the experience, Temple of poseidon at Sounio, will amaze us for two reasons: firstly because of its architectural and historical uniqueness and secondly because it is located on an edge cliff , where you can see the aegean sea in front of you.The view of the aegean will become much more impressive during the sunset.ONCE IN A LIFETIME EXPERIENCE..i am looking forward to showing the beauties of greece.

Title: Viator Review — Cape Sounio Temple of Poseidon & Athenian Riviera Tour

This was our first time booking a tour like this, and it exceeded our expectations. After experiencing larger group tours that felt rushed and crowded, the small group of just four made this experience relaxed, personal, and perfectly paced. Our guide, Konstantinos, truly made the trip exceptional. He was warm, approachable, engaging, and genuinely passionate about Athens and Greek culture. He made us feel more like guests spending the day with a local friend than tourists on a formal tour. There were plenty of laughs and great conversations, while he still took the time to share fascinating history, culture, and local knowledge. By the end of the day, we genuinely felt like we had made a lifelong friend. We cannot say enough good things about this experience. Highly, highly recommended! If you’re considering this tour, book it—you won’t regret it!

We had a fantastic time! Konstantinos was a terrific guide. He was very passionate and knowledgeable about the history of Greece and Greek Mythology. He answered every question and provided a very personal and thorough tour of the area. The sunset and Temple of Poseidon were breathtaking. If you want a fantastic afternoon - book this tour with Konstantinos!

Ask for Konstantinos - he was the best tour guide

If I could give 100 stars on this website I would. Kostas was our guide and we had the best time ever - I’ve been to Athens many times but not the Greek riviera - you actually don’t feel like your in Athens you feel like your on an island. Kostas was very knowledgeable and accommodating he told us many things about the Greek culture and history which was fascinating. The bougatsa was delicious- we ventured into a quaint fishing village town of Kostas it was so beautiful. The Poseidon temple was stunning in the afternoon and the history to know before you visit is very important to appreciate this amazing temple. My husband fell ill from the long flight from Australia and Kostas was so gentle explaining he will take us to the pharmacy or the hospital whatever was required. We opted for the pharmacy and when Kostas dropped us off at the hotel he said If my husband needed anything to contact him. What a beautiful honest person - very rare. Thank you for a wonderful tour Kostas we really appreciated it. Julie & Rocc from Australia

Cape Sounio Temple of Poseidon & Athenian Riviera Tour(+swimming): questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Athens.

How much does Cape Sounio Temple of Poseidon & Athenian Riviera Tour(+swimming) cost?

    +

Prices start at $66 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Athens usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Cape Sounio Temple of Poseidon & Athenian Riviera Tour(+swimming) take?

    +

Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Athens is not rushed.

Is Cape Sounio Temple of Poseidon & Athenian Riviera Tour(+swimming) worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 80 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 67 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Athens, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Cape Sounio Temple of Poseidon & Athenian Riviera Tour(+swimming)?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Cape Sounio Temple of Poseidon & Athenian Riviera Tour(+swimming) suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 6-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Cape Sounio Temple of Poseidon & Athenian Riviera Tour(+swimming)?

    +

Around 23 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Athens can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Athens and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Cape Sounio Temple of Poseidon & Athenian Riviera Tour(+swimming) start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Athens within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Athens?

    +

On Outty we rank every Athens experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Athens Small Group E-Bike Tour, Small Group Greek Traditional Food Tour in Athens 20+ Tastings, Athens Scenic Bike Tour with Regular or Electric Bike + Acropolis. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Athens?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Athens?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
