    Great guide!

I had a great morning paddle. The evening sunset paddle was canceled and is the reason for the 4-star. My guide, Mike, is knowledgeable about the seaways we were paddling and pointed out nesting birds and sea creatures on the tour. I would do this again and ask for Mike. It was a great experience.

Stunning scenery, recommend for all levels, expert level information about the waters and wildlife

A friend and I signed up for the sunset kayak tour and it turned out it was just us... and they still did the tour! Kaitlyn did an amazing job! How incredible that we had a marine biologist share details about the wildlife and the sealife along the spit. Given it was after Labor Day, the waters were still and quiet and we were essentially out there all by ourselves. It was beautiful. We saw the oyster beds and walked the spit. Learned about molting horseshoe crabs and saw several stunning blue crab legs with red tips on the claws. We learned about how birds swoop in to get shellfish and then drop them on the docks to break the shells. Kaitlyn took photos of our journey and was happy to accommodate our requests for poses! We saw the sunset and then because we were ahead of schedule we kayaked to another bay to see the oyster farms. We kayaked back by moonlight. We felt safe the entire time but it was reassuring to know that the tour guides are certified in rescuing and Kaitlyn is even an EMT. She was a charming guide and we greatly enjoyed this!! Bonus that they take and post your pictures so you don't need to worry about bringing along your phone/camera.

Matt and Rideaway get the top score

The setting for this trip was absolutely gorgeous. I had a wonderful time. The kayaking trip was well paced so that we made good time but I felt peaceful and like I could keep up. We stopped for a bit to walk which was a nice opportunity to stretch my legs. The best part besides the beautiful scenery and sunset was my guide. Matt B. was friendly and informative. We had great conversation with a bit of his knowledge of the birds and shellfish thrown in. Five out of five...ten out of ten? Whatever the rating system, Matt and Rideaway get the top score.

Cape Cod Sunset Kayak Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cape Cod.

How much does Cape Cod Sunset Kayak Tour cost?

    +

Prices start at $80 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cape Cod usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Cape Cod Sunset Kayak Tour take?

    +

Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cape Cod is not rushed.

Is Cape Cod Sunset Kayak Tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 63 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 12 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cape Cod, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Cape Cod Sunset Kayak Tour?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Cape Cod Sunset Kayak Tour suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Cape Cod Sunset Kayak Tour?

    +

Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cape Cod can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cape Cod and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Cape Cod Sunset Kayak Tour start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cape Cod within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Cape Cod?

    +

Cape Cod covers Provincetown whale watching over Stellwagen Bank, dune tours in the National Seashore, seal cruises off Chatham, lighthouse loops and ferry day trips to Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard. Whale sighting policies vary between operators. On Outty we rank every Cape Cod experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include The Lucinda Lipol Tour of Provincetown, Chatham Bites and Sights Walking Guided Food Tasting Tour, Wine and Wine Jelly-Sauce Tasting on Plymouth Bay. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Cape Cod?

    +

June to September, with whales from April to October. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Cape Cod?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
