What a fantastic experience!
We enjoyed a fantastic tour with Janice in November. Her knowledge and presentation were outstanding. Despite being long-time Canmore residents, we also learned new things about the town. Janice's tours are great for anyone wanting an intro to Canmore and the region.
Response from the operator: Thank you Chris for taking the time to submit this review - it is extremely appreciated! You and your family were so much fun to tour around town with - you are all welcome anytime!

Walking tour with Janice
Although I’ve lived in the valley for >13yrs, we often have guests visiting so I thought we would play tourist and go on Janice’s walking tour with recent visit of family. Everyone enjoyed the tour, all Janice’s well researched tidbits of Canmore history and folklore. I even learned a few new things about my hometown. I’d highly recommend Janice’s tour when you next have guests visiting our wonderful locale- you too may learn a thing of two!
Response from the operator: Thank you for your kind review! I'm so glad to hear that you enjoyed your tour, especially as a local! Your group was an absolute pleasure. Thank you for choosing Canmore Walking Tours!

Walking tour, October.
We had such a fun tour! Janice was well informed, had a great route and all kinds of interesting facts and stories. We learned a lot about Canmore- historical, practical and ‘touristy’. And our chats while walking showed that she clearly knows the whole region with respect to activities to undertake and places to see I highly recommend Janice and Canmore Walking Tours.
Response from the operator: Thank you for taking the time to provide such a kind review - it's so great to hear that you enjoyed your time with Canmore Walking Tours! It was an absolute pleasure meeting you!

Fun and fact filled family walking tour of Canmore with Janice! Worth every cent and more!
While I was in Canmore having a wonderful sisters’ get together in mid October/25, my local sister arranged a walking tour of the town with Janice. Although I had visited several times before, I learned local history that I didn’t know, saw important sites that I had never noticed , and heard more about the community culture, all while enjoying relaxed conversation with personable Janice. Seeing Canmore through Janice’s lens really enriched our remaining time. We even later explored beautiful hiking trails suggested by her. Thankyou so much Janice! Great to meet you!
Response from the operator: Thank you Mary for taking the time to post this review (and picture!). It was an absolute pleasure guiding your group and I'm so happy to hear that you learned a lot and enjoyed your time. All the best!

Why this scores 64
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Canmore Walking Tours: Discover Local History and Scenery: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Canmore.
How much does Canmore Walking Tours: Discover Local History and Scenery cost?
+
Prices start at $48 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Canmore usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Canmore Walking Tours: Discover Local History and Scenery take?
+
Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Canmore is not rushed.
Is Canmore Walking Tours: Discover Local History and Scenery worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 64 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 8 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Canmore, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Canmore Walking Tours: Discover Local History and Scenery?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Canmore Walking Tours: Discover Local History and Scenery suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 8. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 2-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Canmore Walking Tours: Discover Local History and Scenery?
+
Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Canmore can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Canmore and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Canmore Walking Tours: Discover Local History and Scenery start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Canmore within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Canmore?
+
On Outty we rank every Canmore experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Lake Louise, Moraine Lake, Banff Tour from Calgary/Canmore/Banff, Lake Louise Moraine Lake Day Trip from Banff Calgary Canmore, 8 Iconic Stops. 12 Comfy Seats. See Banff's Best in First Class.. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Canmore?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Canmore?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
