Family of 24 on Cancun Guided Tour
A great experience for the family of 24. The team at Cancun Island Tours were easy to deal with, communicated well, and were flexible given our group size. The transports were clean and safe. The guide Olga and the drivers were on time and gave good instructions around what we would be seeing, the timing and what to expect. A great day all around for the family.

Comfortable
We were picked up from hotel. Our ride was a sleek white van that’s very clean. Our driver Hector and guide Gerardo (Gerry) were neat and clad in white shirts with the Cancun Island Tours logo. Our first stop was the Cancun road sign at Playa Delfines. It was a quick stop as there was no available parking and not much to do there anyway. We took a few photos and left. It’s a public beach with fine sand. Second stop was the international jewelry shop where we got the free pendant. We paid $5 for the extra letter engraved (up to 3) but if you’re fine with just one initial then you don’t pay anything. They sell other merchandise besides jewelry. I was very interested in the Talavera ceramic decanter but I felt it’s overpriced. The small one was $440 CAD! Very pretty though, I asked to reserve it until the next day but ended up not getting it. I’m still thinking I should’ve. This is also where we tasted tequila, mind you there’s a lot so if you’re not a drinker and just curious don’t take the whole shots lol. You could buy here if you want. Next we went to Mexico Majico where they sold souvenirs and you could eat at the restaurant. They give you a 200 peso voucher towards food, but we didn’t eat since we weren’t hungry. For the attractions we only got on the Skywheel but the wax and Ripley’s museums are all in La Isla. We appreciated the extra time we spent in the mall as we were able to do some actual shopping. Gerard was kind enough to pivot when we didn’t eat so had extra time. Unfortunately I left something in the van but our driver Hector brought it the following day to our hotel. We also went back to the mall on our own to do some more shopping. There’s another Cancun sign here if you’re interested.

I forgot something in the van unfortunately so I’ll post an update on whether I get it back or not and how we went about it if we do. Recommend the tour 100% despite this, losing stuff isn’t their fault anyway.

Why this scores 65
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Cancun Sightseeing SkyWheel, Letters and Shopping: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cancun.
How much does Cancun Sightseeing SkyWheel, Letters and Shopping cost?
+
Prices start at $49 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cancun usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Cancun Sightseeing SkyWheel, Letters and Shopping take?
+
Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cancun is not rushed.
Is Cancun Sightseeing SkyWheel, Letters and Shopping worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 65 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 8 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cancun, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Cancun Sightseeing SkyWheel, Letters and Shopping?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Cancun Sightseeing SkyWheel, Letters and Shopping suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Cancun Sightseeing SkyWheel, Letters and Shopping?
+
Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cancun can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cancun and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Cancun Sightseeing SkyWheel, Letters and Shopping start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cancun within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Cancun?
+
On Outty we rank every Cancun experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Early Access to Chichen Itza All Inclusive with Valladolid and Cenote Swim, Whale Shark Tour from Cancun, Playa del Carmen, Tulum and Riviera Maya, Small-Group 3 Hidden Cenotes Adventure with Tequila Tasting. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Cancun?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Cancun?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
