Beautiful snorkeling
Beautiful. Guides were very nice. Saw nurse shark, eel, stingray, several turtles and loads of fish! The coral 🪸 was beautiful too!

Best Snorkeling Ever
This was the best snorkeling experience I’ve ever had! I’ve snorkeled about a half dozen times at Isla Mujeres, Cozumel, Jamaica, and this was by far the best. Reason? It was a SMALL GROUP! Not one of those party boats where 3/4 of the price is paying for drinks and servers! All we did was snorkel for over 2 hours!! Second reason: each small group has a photographer to take photos and videos of everything we saw and did! Started with a pickup at hotel- the marina is a bit of a jaunt from hotel zone. Paid $20 at port (pretty standard as we paid same for another excursion from a different port). Were separated into small groups, we had 7 in our little boat with our guide Kiki, photographer Monce, and captain Jaunito. They had quality equipment, and used a cleaning solution to keep the gear from fogging. The life jackets allowed for you to dive while snorkeling. This also allowed you to feel free from being dragged by equipment. It was great! We started with the underwater cenotes. Not much marine life to see, but cool trying to dive down and watching Kiki swim through them! Next to the Mujeres reef with all of the other tourists. This had some really good fish to see. We stayed there way longer than those large group boats. Plus the groups were 15 people deep and no freedom except to swim right between where we were. 🙄 Then we made our way to the underground statues. Again, lots to see and more time than the large groups had. Next stop was the sea turtle grounds. We saw and swam with 3 different turtles. One was eating away, just chilling! Last stop was sunken boat. This was amazing! So many tropical fish and we had lots of time to explore. There was a strong current so it required some good swimming; as did the other spots. Overall this was an exceptional tour! Non stop snorkeling. We’d get on the boat, 10 minutes later back into the water at our next spot! Another thing that made this exceptional was the photographer, Monce, who got some amazing photos of what we saw/experienced, and ourselves in the water. For our group all the videos and photos cost $60. And we have complete access to all the images digitally for ever. (The first images below are my own old GoPro: the other images taken by Monce, are exceptionally better!)

Fun experience
Fun experience with accommodating instructors. It was very straight to the point, immediately leaving by boat to the snorkelling point which wasn’t too far. There was then a second snorkelling point which wasn’t again not too far but rather shallow so I would suggest being extra careful to not cut yourself on the coral. We saw three turtles in total and many fish-overall very worth it!

Poor Snorkeling, Okay Boat Ride
Very friendly crew. Good food, but not the 'gourmet meal' advertised. The reef is sad as a result of the coral bleaching and die off to disease. Few fish, so the snorkeling was disappointing.

A fantastic family excursion!
My husband and I with our three kids (10, 14, 17) booked this excursion after quite a lengthy search of tours offered around Mexico. It was 2 hours, almost all of which was spent actually snorkelling. It was a small group which was lovely. The snorkelling was fantastic: Aqua coloured water, clear views of many tropical fish (they would surround you!). We also saw sea turtles and a shipwreck. The staff was super friendly and very helpful. Price wise it was fairly comparable to other tours, maybe a little bit more, but you have to expect to pay more when it is a smaller more intimate tour. Overall, if you are looking for something to do and have kids of various ages and kids that love the water this is a perfect excursion. We thought the length of time was perfect two hours. It didn’t take up our whole day but we got to experience some beautiful sites.

Why this scores 51
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Cancun Snorkeling Adventure: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cancun.
How much does Cancun Snorkeling Adventure cost?
+
Prices start at $85 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cancun usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Cancun Snorkeling Adventure take?
+
Plan for about 2.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cancun is not rushed.
Is Cancun Snorkeling Adventure worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 51 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.4/5 across 7 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cancun, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Cancun Snorkeling Adventure?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Cancun Snorkeling Adventure suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Cancun Snorkeling Adventure?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cancun can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cancun and add a light layer if any part of the 2.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Cancun Snorkeling Adventure start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cancun within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Cancun?
+
On Outty we rank every Cancun experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Early Access to Chichen Itza All Inclusive with Valladolid and Cenote Swim, Whale Shark Tour from Cancun, Playa del Carmen, Tulum and Riviera Maya, Small-Group 3 Hidden Cenotes Adventure with Tequila Tasting. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Cancun?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Cancun?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
