Exceptional foddie experience
Exceptional experience- sampling various local foods with the birra tacos and shrimp ceviche were divine. Our guide was personable and knowledgeable about local cuisine and history. I would highly recommend the outing and definitely plan on booking it again.
Response from the operator: Stephanie, this made us smile big. We love that you enjoyed the birria tacos and shrimp ceviche… those are hard to forget once you try them. It means a lot to hear you connected with both the food and the stories behind it. That’s exactly what we hope to share. Thank you for your recommendation and for trusting us with your time. We’ll be ready for round two whenever you come back. The Tulaka Mexico Crew

We loved this tour!
This tour was great! We loved trying new foods and getting out of the tourist area! Antonio was a great tour guide!
Response from the operator: Julia, thank you so much for your lovely review. We’re really happy to hear you enjoyed stepping outside the tourist areas and discovering some of the local flavors with us. That’s exactly the spirit of this experience. Antonio will be very glad to know you appreciated his guidance along the way. Thank you for exploring a different side of Cancún with us. We hope the memories (and the flavors) stay with you for a long time. Warm regards, Tulaka Mexico Crew

Saúl was the best part of our trip!
Saul saved our vacation! I booked the foodie tour for my husband’s 45th birthday and slipped the evening before in the hotel shower, breaking my finger. Not only did we try amazing food, get great gifts, and truly enjoy learning all about Cancun, he took time to take me to the pharmacy. We enjoyed him so much we booked a tour later in the week to the monkey Sanctuary. My son has continued to say that Saúl was the best part of our trip!
Response from the operator: Laura, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for this incredible review. It was truly an honor to be part of such a meaningful moment during your trip — even with the unexpected twist. We’re so happy you still got to enjoy the food, the markets, and the local culture of Cancún. Being able to help, even beyond the tour itself, is exactly what we strive for. Your kind words — especially your son saying Saúl was the best part of the trip — genuinely moved our team. Those are the moments that remind us why we do what we do. Thank you for trusting Tulaka Mexico not just once, but twice during your stay. You’ll always have friends (and tacos!) waiting for you here in Cancún. With cariño, The Tulaka Mexico Crew #FoodWithHeart #TulakaMexico #TravelWithPurpose

Why this scores 53
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Cancun Food Tour: Market 23, Local Flavors & Downtown Culture: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cancun.
How much does Cancun Food Tour: Market 23, Local Flavors & Downtown Culture cost?
+
Prices start at $55 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cancun usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Cancun Food Tour: Market 23, Local Flavors & Downtown Culture take?
+
Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cancun is not rushed.
Is Cancun Food Tour: Market 23, Local Flavors & Downtown Culture worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 53 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 4 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cancun, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Cancun Food Tour: Market 23, Local Flavors & Downtown Culture?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Cancun Food Tour: Market 23, Local Flavors & Downtown Culture suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Cancun Food Tour: Market 23, Local Flavors & Downtown Culture?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cancun can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cancun and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Cancun Food Tour: Market 23, Local Flavors & Downtown Culture start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cancun within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Cancun?
+
On Outty we rank every Cancun experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Early Access to Chichen Itza All Inclusive with Valladolid and Cenote Swim, Whale Shark Tour from Cancun, Playa del Carmen, Tulum and Riviera Maya, Small-Group 3 Hidden Cenotes Adventure with Tequila Tasting. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Cancun?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Cancun?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
