What you get

    About this experience

Campo de Ourique is one of the most original and vibrant neighborhoods in Lisbon. It’s a densely populated borough, where the prevailing demography is middle-class with a strong emphasis on liberal professions. By today’s standards it’s probably the most sought after quarter to inhabit and enjoy a high standard of living in the Portuguese capital. New spaces and business opportunities emerge all the time. Nevertheless traditional retail is still very much alive. Campo de Ourique remains a village in the heart of the city, but it’s also becoming a very cosmopolitan and trendy neighborhood - the kind of unique combination the entire Lisbon would like to have in the 21st century.

    First, Luis spoke...

First, Luis spoke excellent English and arrived on time for our private tour. Despite not living in Campo de Ourique, Luis had good knowledge of the neighborhood. It wasn't too much walking and the terrain was relatively flat. We were disappointed that the tour was scheduled to be 3-4 hours but only lasted 2 hours. We acknowledge this is not a typical tour most tourists would take however, we didn't go INSIDE any of the free buildings such as the church, the market and didn't actually go to the cemetery. Overall, we learned about a potential neighborhood in which we were considering living in.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much to take the time to write this very detailed and fair review. Although, let me add,, we started earlier than expected, so the tour certainly lasted more than 2 hours. This tour usually takes longer because we stop somewhere in the middle to have coffee and talk, or take photos, but I got the impression that you weren’t too interested in that kind of interaction. In any case, I'll send you more information, answer your questions and talk about Lisbon. It was good to meet you and I hope to see you again soon!

Lesser Known Lisbon Neighborhood Worth The Visit

Our private tour guide, Luis, was very knowledgeable and friendly. He provided a wonderful tour of the old and the newer neighborhoods of Campo de Ourique. He also suggested good restaurants and the award-winning pastel de nato shop. This was an off-the-beaten track tour that I would highly recommend after you have seen all the other major tourist sites.

Response from the operator: It's a pleasure and a privilege to have visitors interested in going beyond the cliches. It's for people like you that I really want to show Lisbon. Thank you so much.

    Nice Residential Neighborhood

A very nice residential neighborhood with some typical services that you would expect, including some good restaurants. You can get here from the lower town via a tram. Nice place to stroll to see how the middle class lives.

    Fascinating neighborhood walking tour

Our guide, a journalist and teacher, was incredibly knowledgeable about the history of the Campo de Ourique neighborhood, leading us through the streets and behind doors to reveal its hidden treasures. Highly recommend.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your kind words, it was pleasure to spend the afternoon with you in Campo de Ourique. I’d be happy to help if you need more information, or if I can help in any other way.

Great, educational tour of Campo de Ourique

Detailed, tailored personal tour of Campo de Ourique. We moved to this neighborhood earlier this year but wanted to know more about the history of the area. Lus is very knowledgeable and showed us some interesting places that we had walked past a quite a few times but never noticed before.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your review. It is a pleasure to "welcome" new inhabitants of Campo de Ourique who clearly already like the neighborhood as if they were born here.

Campo de Ourique, Lisbon Coolest Quarter - Private Walking Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Lisbon.

How much does Campo de Ourique, Lisbon Coolest Quarter - Private Walking Tour cost?

    +

Prices start at $15 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Lisbon usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Campo de Ourique, Lisbon Coolest Quarter - Private Walking Tour take?

    +

Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Lisbon is not rushed.

Is Campo de Ourique, Lisbon Coolest Quarter - Private Walking Tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 67 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.7/5 across 10 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Lisbon, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Campo de Ourique, Lisbon Coolest Quarter - Private Walking Tour?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Campo de Ourique, Lisbon Coolest Quarter - Private Walking Tour suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Campo de Ourique, Lisbon Coolest Quarter - Private Walking Tour?

    +

Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Lisbon can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Lisbon and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Campo de Ourique, Lisbon Coolest Quarter - Private Walking Tour start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Lisbon within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Lisbon?

    +

On Outty we rank every Lisbon experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Lisbon City Center Tour - The Unmissable Lisbon, Sintra Private Trip from Lisbon Customizable Dreamlike Experience, True 4Hour Private Tuk Tuk Tour: Discover Lisbon with a Local!. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Lisbon?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Lisbon?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
