Fantastic trip

What a fantastic trip! We saw around 20 whales, in the end a few were jumping out of the water just in front of our boat. Our guide Justine, provided us with a lot of information, sharing her love for nature and whales. An unforgettable trip!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We’re thrilled to hear you had such an incredible trip. Seeing around 20 whales is already amazing, but having a few jumping right in front of the boat must have been an unforgettable experience! 🐋 We’re also delighted to hear that Justine’s knowledge and passion for nature and whales made the adventure even more special. Thank you for joining us—we hope to welcome you aboard again for more incredible wildlife encounters!

Great Wildlife Tour

On the 10th of July we have had a 4-hour Wildlife Tour with Jos as our guide. We were lucky because the weather was nice and calm. The trip was with a covered boat. Once we were on our way we spotted our first wildlife. This was a group of 8 humpback whales. It was great to see so many of them. Our daughter saw one of the humpbacks jumping out of the water. After this we tried to see the blows on the surface to find more whales. And we did see 3 more of them. During the trip Jos told us some fun facts about the area itself. He really involved everyone, even our 9-year-old. The rest of the trip we saw dolphins, bald eagles and sea lions. Because of this great experience we booked the 2-hour sunset tour (see my second review). The guides and people at the front desk were very friendly.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful experience with us! We’re thrilled to hear that your 4-hour Wildlife Tour with Jos was such a memorable adventure. Eight humpback whales to start the trip—and your daughter getting to see one breach—must have been an incredible sight! 🐋 It’s fantastic to hear that you also enjoyed seeing dolphins, bald eagles, and sea lions, and that Jos kept the whole family engaged with fun facts and stories. We’re especially happy that your experience was so enjoyable that you decided to join us again for our sunset tour! Thank you for choosing us and for your kind words about our guides and front desk team. We hope to see you and your family aboard again for more unforgettable wildlife encounters! 🌅🐋

Amazing experience

Another great experience with Eagle Eye. My annual birthday treat and again I was not disappointed. Captain Bananas was a most delightful tour guide. Very knowledgeable and friendly, you could tell she adores her job. She kept a respectful distance from the whales. We saw orca peacefully swimming along and we didn’t need to travel far, as there were lots of humpbacks out that day. Whilst enjoying our drink and snack, with the engine off, 3 humpbacks decided to arrive and swim right underneath us. Exhilarating! A memory which will last for a lifetime!💐

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for celebrating your birthday with us again! We're honoured to be part of your annual tradition. We'll be sure to pass your kind words along to Captain Bananas—she'll be thrilled to hear how much you enjoyed her knowledge, enthusiasm, and respectful approach to wildlife viewing. Seeing both orcas and humpbacks, especially having three humpbacks swim right beneath the boat, is truly an unforgettable experience, and we're so glad you got to witness such a magical moment. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We look forward to welcoming you back for your next birthday adventure!

Campbell River, BC: 4 Hour Wildlife Tour Featuring Whale Watching: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Vancouver Island.

How much does Campbell River, BC: 4 Hour Wildlife Tour Featuring Whale Watching cost?

+

Prices start at $228 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Vancouver Island usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Campbell River, BC: 4 Hour Wildlife Tour Featuring Whale Watching take?

+

Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Vancouver Island is not rushed.

Is Campbell River, BC: 4 Hour Wildlife Tour Featuring Whale Watching worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 61 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.5/5 across 46 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Vancouver Island, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Campbell River, BC: 4 Hour Wildlife Tour Featuring Whale Watching?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Campbell River, BC: 4 Hour Wildlife Tour Featuring Whale Watching suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 4. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 4-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Campbell River, BC: 4 Hour Wildlife Tour Featuring Whale Watching?

+

Around 16 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Vancouver Island can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Vancouver Island and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Campbell River, BC: 4 Hour Wildlife Tour Featuring Whale Watching start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Vancouver Island within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Vancouver Island?

+

On Outty we rank every Vancouver Island experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Victoria Guided Food and History Tour, Victoria Whale and Wildlife Cruise, Victoria Half-Day Whale Watching Adventure with Free Photos. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Vancouver Island?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Vancouver Island?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
