Excellent Guide, Great Sights—Know What the 8 Hours Include.
Overall, this was a good tour, with an excellent guide and some wonderful highlights. My main reservation is that I think the tour description could be clearer about how the eight-hour day is actually structured. The good: We were picked up on time at 8 AM, and having a dedicated driver and a separate tour guide was a definite plus. Our guide, Hassan Karem, was very courteous, knowledgeable, and professional throughout the tour. The Citadel and the mosque were amazing, and the other sightseeing stop was also very enjoyable. The buffet lunch was another highlight. The food was hot, fresh, and delicious, and the service was excellent. If you are given a choice of lunch options, I would definitely recommend the buffet. The one thing to know: The main sightseeing portion of the tour was essentially finished by around 11:00 AM. The remaining portion of the advertised eight-hour tour is largely lunch and time at the market/bazaar. That may be perfect for travelers who enjoy shopping, but we aren’t shoppers, particularly in the heat with vendors constantly approaching you. We spent about 20 minutes in the shopping area and then asked to return to our hotel, arriving around 1:30 PM. I don’t think that’s something I can fairly fault Hassan for—he was simply following the itinerary and was very accommodating when we asked to leave early. My recommendation to the tour company would be to make the itinerary more explicit about how much of the eight-hour tour is devoted to lunch and shopping. That would help travelers decide whether this particular tour is the right fit for them. Overall, a good experience, with an excellent guide and some truly enjoyable highlights. Just know what you’re signing up for if shopping isn’t your thing.

Saqqara, Coptic Cairo & Al-Azhar Park — Another Perfect Day with Egy Excursions
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Saqqara, Coptic Cairo, Al-Azhar Park & Nile Cruise — Egy Excursions at Their Very Best Our third day with Egy Excursions and they delivered yet again — this time covering the ancient pyramids of Saqqara, the historic churches of Coptic Cairo, the stunning Al-Azhar Park, and a beautiful Nile cruise, with pickup and drop-off included throughout. Mahmood was once again our driver — reliable, punctual and genuinely lovely company. Hasan returned as our guide, proving once more that he is in a league of his own. His knowledge spans effortlessly from ancient Egyptian civilisation at Saqqara to early Christian history in Coptic Cairo — a remarkable range that very few guides could match. Every site came alive through his explanations. The day was rounded off perfectly with a Nile cruise experience handled by Isra, who looked after us wonderfully and made it a relaxed, memorable end to a full day of exploration. A lovely touch to close out everything Cairo had to offer. What struck us most was the consistency across the team. Three days, the same exceptional standard throughout — no shortcuts, no rushed moments, just genuine care for their guests. The hospitality shown by Hasan, Mahmood and Isra across our entire time in Cairo was something we will not forget. If you are planning multiple days of touring in Cairo, look no further than Egy Excursions. Ask for Hasan and Mahmood — and if you get the chance to experience the cruise with Isra, grab it. You will be in the very best hands.

Cairo Tour Citadel of Saladin Coptic Cairo and Khan El Khalili: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cairo.
How much does Cairo Tour Citadel of Saladin Coptic Cairo and Khan El Khalili cost?
+
Prices start at $20 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cairo usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Cairo Tour Citadel of Saladin Coptic Cairo and Khan El Khalili take?
+
Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cairo is not rushed.
Is Cairo Tour Citadel of Saladin Coptic Cairo and Khan El Khalili worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 70 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 17 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cairo, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Cairo Tour Citadel of Saladin Coptic Cairo and Khan El Khalili?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Cairo Tour Citadel of Saladin Coptic Cairo and Khan El Khalili suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 6-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Cairo Tour Citadel of Saladin Coptic Cairo and Khan El Khalili?
+
Around 6 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cairo can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cairo and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Cairo Tour Citadel of Saladin Coptic Cairo and Khan El Khalili start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cairo within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Cairo?
+
On Outty we rank every Cairo experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include All-in-One Giza Tour, inside Pyramid, sphinx, Camel ride & lunch, VIP Private Giza Pyramids, Sphinx Tour –Inside the Pyramids&More, Giza Pyramids all inclusive,Sphinx, lunch,Camel, insid pyramid. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Cairo?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Cairo?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
