Excellent tour...incredible guide

The tour was pretty amazing, we were quite sceptical of the price at first as there were many other tours a lot cheaper, however this is a completely private tour of both the floating market (at peak time) and Ben Tre coconut forests along with the obvious row boat along the mekong plantations with hat included. It is worth it as there are many other interesting things to see in between that are not mentioned on itinerary...with lots tastings/samples. The endless amounts of fruit and shot of snake venom spirit was a particular highlight. Our quide Phong was fantastic and very enthusiastic about is job and no question went unanswered, even with an hours delay d/t traffic he still made sure we saw everything.....ask for him would be my advise.

Great Day Tour to Cai Rang Market and Ben Tre Island!

We were picked up by Fong at 4am in order to make it to the Floating Market by 7am. From the time we got to the boat to the end of our trip nearly 8 hours later, we had the most amazing time! We had a wonderful breakfast at a local restaurant on the river, had fresh pineapple from a merchant boat, rode bikes through Ben Tre, visited a coconut candy factory, rice paper factory, brick factory, learned how to climb coconut trees (while others laid in hammocks enjoying fresh coconuts :) ) and enjoyed another wonderful meal at a local restaurant in Ben Tre. The tour was amazing and worth every penny. Our whole group marveled at the lack of tourists we saw during our tour. This was a real authentic experience! I would recommend Fong if you choose this tour. He is so sweet and informative. Thank you, Fong!

All in all the tour was fun. The Cai Rang floating market part was great and is highly recommended even if it is a long drive to get there. The Ben Tre part was much more touristy and fun but not outstanding. The cycling was not nearly the 15 km advertised must have been more like 2-3 km, there was no coconut tree climbing, no pottery shop etc. Also the ride in the Sampan was very short must have been 10 minutes. The guides English could have been better, although he was very nice. Altogether still recommended especially because of the Cai Rang part which very few other tours offer.

How far in advance should I book Cai Rang floating market and Mekong Delta Private Tour from HCMC?

    +

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Ho Chi Minh City can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Ho Chi Minh City and add a light layer if any part of the 24-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Cai Rang floating market and Mekong Delta Private Tour from HCMC start and how do I get there?

    +

What are the best things to do in Ho Chi Minh City?

    +

On Outty we rank every Ho Chi Minh City experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Adventure Cu Chi Tunnels and Mekong Delta Tour From HCM, Cu Chi Tunnels Small-Group Tour: Vietnam War Underground Network, Cu Chi underground tour - Learn Vietnam war with others. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Ho Chi Minh City?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Ho Chi Minh City?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
