Family of 4 Mekong Delta tour
Our experience with Indochina Heritage Travel was excellent. I don't remember how I came across this company, but I looked them up on WhatsApp and messaged them with a general idea of what we wanted. They immediately messaged me back and within 5 message exchanges we had our itinerary set. It was so easy - and I'm all about NO HASSLE!! The price was very good - they sent me a link to pay, and it was done! Our guide, Emily, was fantastic. She was warm and funny, spoke English very well, and was a total pleasure to spend time with. The transportation was clean and comfortable. We booked a PRIVATE tour because we like moving at our own pace. The Mekong Delta tour was charming. We had a fantastic lunch. We spent the night in an amazing 5 star hotel in Can Tho and the following morning headed to the Cai Rang. Though I thought the market was the least impressive part of our trip, not due to the tour just simply because it's more for tourists and less of a functioning market, the boat ride to the market was relaxing and enjoying a warm bowl of soup on our boat, purchased from a floating market boat, was so enjoyable. I cannot tell you how much we enjoyed our trip and our tour guide, Emily. I would highly recommend this company and if you're lucky enough to end up with Emily, you will have a wonderful experience. Best, Brenda and the Carrithers Family

Wonderful experience of food, culture, and history of the Mekong Delta and Vietnam.
We did this excursion on Dec 31, 2025-Jan 01, 2026. On Day 1 we departed from Ho Chi Minh City. Matthew, our tour guide, spoke excellent English. He arrived at our hotel on time and with the driver of a very comfortable vehicle we left the city. On our way Matthew gave us a detailed explanation of what we would be doing during our 2-day excursion. He then told us a great deal about this history of Vietnam, the importance of the Mekong Delta region to the country, and interesting information about the agriculture and industry of the country. After 1.5 hours of driving we were transferred to and were transported by various boats and tuk tuk to multiple locations to a small family run orchard (where we ate exotic tropical fruit), tasted chocolate, had a wonderful lunch, saw crocodiles, fed large catfish, saw coconut candy production, and then returned to our car and were driven to Can Tho. It was a fun filled day, well coordinated, and very interesting. Day 2 we visited the Can Tho floating market. We were driven to the pier and boarded a small boat. After a 30 minute ride we arrived at a rice noodle/pancake making ‘boat’ on the river. We made rice cakes on metal pan, then rolled it off pan to bamboo reed for drying. After we hopped back in our boat to another small boat that made us a wonderful rice noodle soup. We then had Vietnamese iced coffee and fresh squeezed orange juice – all on the boats! We then departed the boat, walked through a local outdoor market in the area and jumped back on the car to start our journey back to Ho Chi Minh. On the way we stopped at an historic home and had a wonderful lunch. We were back in the city about 2:30. Matthew did a great job throughout the day providing historical and cultural perspectives of Vietnam and Mekong Delta region.

Awesome experience, made...
Awesome experience, made even better by our guide Johnny. He’s the best! Would highly recommend. While the market was kind of sparse, the full day of adventure on day 1 was phenomenal. Coconut candy experience and traditional culture/music was super cool

Amazing tour and guide!
Our guide, Tuan was simply amazing! Knowledgeable, informative and laid back. There was no pressure during the tour and wasn’t invasive. We highly recommend this tour if you want to visit the floating markets.

Dave was an exceptional tour guide, always funny and open-minded. I learned a lot and always felt safe. We saw and experienced many new things and places, but it never felt overwhelming. I would definitely recommend this tour.

Why this scores 72
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Cai Rang Floating Market - Mekong Delta 2 Days 1 Night: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Ho Chi Minh City.
How much does Cai Rang Floating Market - Mekong Delta 2 Days 1 Night cost?
+
Prices start at $78 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Ho Chi Minh City usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Cai Rang Floating Market - Mekong Delta 2 Days 1 Night take?
+
Plan for about 48 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Ho Chi Minh City is not rushed.
Is Cai Rang Floating Market - Mekong Delta 2 Days 1 Night worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 72 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 16 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Ho Chi Minh City, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Cai Rang Floating Market - Mekong Delta 2 Days 1 Night?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Cai Rang Floating Market - Mekong Delta 2 Days 1 Night suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 48-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Cai Rang Floating Market - Mekong Delta 2 Days 1 Night?
+
Around 6 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Ho Chi Minh City can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Ho Chi Minh City and add a light layer if any part of the 48-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Cai Rang Floating Market - Mekong Delta 2 Days 1 Night start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Ho Chi Minh City within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Ho Chi Minh City?
+
On Outty we rank every Ho Chi Minh City experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Adventure Cu Chi Tunnels and Mekong Delta Tour From HCM, Cu Chi Tunnels Small-Group Tour: Vietnam War Underground Network, Cu Chi underground tour - Learn Vietnam war with others. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Ho Chi Minh City?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Ho Chi Minh City?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
