Ask questions to avoid dissatisfaction
Ask questions so you won’t be disappointed. We thought flavors of Mexico meant a meal or nice snack. We tasted a mini spoonful of guava and honey. We thought air condition transportation did not mean a walking tour. We were unable to reach the guide by phone and had to get a taxi driver to contact her to arrange a meeting place. The guide was friendly and apologized for the misunderstanding, too little, too late.
Response from the operator: I apologize for the misunderstanding. The description doesn't mention snacks or food. We sampled fruit teas prepared by local artisans, a variety of teas, honeys, and sauces, as well as tequilas made with seasonal fruits. The meeting point is at the Hard Rock Cafe across the street from the Cruise Port. The guide waited 30 minutes, and then someone called to inform us that you were downtown at a different location than the one agreed upon in the reservation. The shopping tour is a walking tour downtown, visiting stores recommended by reputable cruise lines. That's why vehicles aren't allowed in the downtown plaza. I apologize for the misunderstanding.

Don't do this!
Total misrepresentation. We were told to meet the "tour guide" at Sr. Frogs along the main shopping strip (we arrived by a cruise ship). We were told that our guide would be wearing a white shirt with the company's logo. He identified himself by name (no white shirt or logo). He said he was parked down the street. We walked about 1/2 mile to a beat up car with a broken wind shield in a dark parking garage (right then we should have left). He drove us to the shopping area which turned out to be the main strip of shops along the dock where the cruise ships dock (about 5 mins away). We were met by a young woman who took us into a black coral shop and then literally walked along the shops and said if you want to go in just go in. I told her this was not what was advertised. She called her supervisor who said not to worry I would receive a full refund (which I didn't). The young woman did take us inside of a tea shop (again along the route) which was cool, but that was it. We walked back to the cruise ship. I trust Trip Advisor, but question how this excursion fell through the cracks....
Response from the operator: Good morning! To start, I will tell you that that day the cruise ship arrived next to Downtown, it was not 1/2 mile, it was 1 block and a half at the mega store parking lot because were we met you all that street has a red line, police don't allow people to park there, normally people come from Puerta Maya which is approximately 10 minutes by vehicle, you decided to cancel the excursion when we were halfway there, visited the Black Coral shop and the salsas and tea tasting, we paid a fee to those stores plus the tour guide. It was 5 minutes by car to where we started the excursion, if you say you walked half a mile and it was one block and a half and it was only 1 block and a half, those 5 minutes of driving would have felt like it was more distance. You received a 50% refund because we used the other 50% for the guide's payments and the fee for more stores that you visited. In any case, we appreciate your visit and your review. Have a great day.

Mayra is GREAT!
I rated it 5 because of Mayra, she was great. She even took us to eat at an authentic street taco place. Never have i experienced such flavor, it was amazing. Transportation was not included for us, probably because we were at a resort, not a cruise ship. So we had to get ourselves to and from. The other thing I would suggest is for the tour not to start with tequila tasting, it was way too early for that. And the place where the tequila tasting is done has bad reviews online. They have been marked as a scam on reddit by actual visitors.
Response from the operator: Good morning! If you are staying in a hotel i'm between the Cruise port and the Downtown we pay the taxi, but You were staying in a hotel by playa mía The taxi cost us 2½ more than from Cruise ships ports I talked to mayra because the tequila tasting must be the last stop of the tour. But i really I appreciate your comments so we know how the huides are doing the tour. Have a Great day ! 🙂

Why this scores 52
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Buggy Tour Adventure: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cozumel.
How much does Buggy Tour Adventure cost?
+
Prices start at $50 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cozumel usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Buggy Tour Adventure take?
+
Plan for about 4.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cozumel is not rushed.
Is Buggy Tour Adventure worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 52 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.6/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cozumel, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Buggy Tour Adventure?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Buggy Tour Adventure suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Buggy Tour Adventure?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cozumel can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cozumel and add a light layer if any part of the 4.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Buggy Tour Adventure start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cozumel within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Cozumel?
+
On Outty we rank every Cozumel experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Jade Caverns and Mayan Village Cozumel ATV TOUR, Buggy, Beach & Snorkel Blast, ATV 4×4+Cenote+Snorkeling+Beach Club+ Lunch+Sabores de Cozumel. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Cozumel?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Cozumel?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
