About this experience
This unique experience is exclusive to the Hurghada area and cannot be offered by any other company. One of our representatives will pick you up from your hotel and take you to our center, located in Makadi Bay. From there, the adventure begins as we drive deep into the Makadi Desert, navigating up and down sand dunes. This is where you can truly feel the adrenaline and excitement of quad driving, surrounded by stunning views and untouched desert landscapes. Our journey continues until we reach a remote, deserted beach, where you’ll have time to relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Next, we follow the coastline, crossing more sand dunes until we arrive at fascinating caves with a very special natural feature that is truly worth seeing. This area is also home to pristine, untouched coral reefs, offering incredible views directly from the beach. Due to the calm and quiet nature of both land and sea here, there is even a chance to spot dolphins swimming nearby.

What you'll see and do
Makadi Bay
This experience is the only one in and around Hurghada. No other company can offer this amazing trip, as we have our own private beach from where we start our program. Average time of program 2-3 hours . (We like to make our trips informal and relaxed) One of our representatives will collect you from your hotel and bring you to our centre located on our private beach in Makadi Bay. Here you can sit and relax in our Bedouin tent while drinking some Egyptian tea and meeting your guide who will talk you through the health and safety instructions you need, and issue any equipment you need. Then after a demonstration and assessment of driving you will be all ready to go!!!! Firstly we drive deep into the Makadi Desert, up and down sand dunes and across many terrains. This is when you can really enjoy the adrenaline and excitement of driving a quad. You will see such amazing views and undisturbed desert until we reach a deserted remote beach . Take time to relax and enjoy. Let's Go!! Now we will follow the coastline through many sand dunes until we reach some amazing caves that hold a very special feature that you will want to see. Here we have some amazing untouched coral reefs so you will be able to see some amazing sights from the beach here. Also because this area of the land and sea is very quiet there is a chance of a dolphin or two swimming around. After we have taken time to enjoy this beautiful area we will start back to the centre. This is the time to open up the throttle as you zoom up sand dunes and whizz down the other side. Welcome back to the centre, where you can meet Oscar, our camel and get to have a ride along the beach on him. We also have two tortoises who are very happy to have a photo taken with them. Again you will be given complimentary Egyptian tea in our Bedouin tent and you can take time to relax and chill after your trip. As we have a beach you are more than welcome to make use of it and enjoy your time. Once you are ready to head home we will transport you back to your hotel. Included in the price: Transportation from and to your hotel in Makadi Bay. (Extra charge applies for other areas). One of our experienced professional guides throughout your trip. Safety demonstration. Helmets. Traditional Egyptian Tea. One Camel Ride. One Shisha.

Very good 👍
I was having fun, I was there with my family and everyone was riding their own quad bike. There was a detailed explanation. Everyone had fun and we wanted to go again.

Nice Quad Tour in Egypt
We had a great afternoon quad biking. We were very well looked after. The transfer also went smoothly. At first, we had to get used to the quad bikes, but we were given immediate assistance with this too. Some lovely photos were taken as well. We’ve been a group of 10! Thank you for the nice afternoon

Why this scores 53
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Buggy Makadi Desert Trip: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Hurghada.
How much does Buggy Makadi Desert Trip cost?
+
Prices start at $100 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Hurghada usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Buggy Makadi Desert Trip take?
+
Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Hurghada is not rushed.
Is Buggy Makadi Desert Trip worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 53 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Hurghada, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Buggy Makadi Desert Trip?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Buggy Makadi Desert Trip suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 5. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 3-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Buggy Makadi Desert Trip?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Hurghada can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Hurghada and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Buggy Makadi Desert Trip start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Hurghada within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Hurghada?
+
On Outty we rank every Hurghada experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Hurghada: Luxor Valley of the Kings & Tutankhamun Tomb Trip, Orange Bay Island, Luxury Cruise to Orange Bay and Hula Hula island Trip. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Hurghada?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Hurghada?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
