    Off-road buggy and catamaran trip

Confirming the trip with the office to determine the pick up time at our hotel was an issue as they stated they could not find my reservation though I had emails and texts from them confirming the actual reservation. However, once that had been resolved it was a great time. Very professional at the off road buggy location but could have been a bit more organized with gathering all the tour guests. Loved the reserve experience and could have swam more in the park-great experience. The catamaran was a lot of fun and my husband and I were amused that we anchored off the shore of the Westin-where we were staying. However, the crew made the swimming and experience so much fun it was worth it. The lunch served was top notch and we finished the day happy that we booked this tour.

Response from the operator: Thank you for your feedback, we will use it to improve our service so that the next time you have an even better experience.

    Day of fun!

David on the Catamaran was so much fun and knowledgeable. The rum drinks kept coming and the sail ride was smooth. Once we got to the natural pool it was like put of a movie - a real stingray swam past us. Francis at the lagoon was such a patient guide. He literally saved the day when someone from our group lost her balance and went under- he dove in no hesitation and saved her. The excursion was just all in all amazing. Please go.

Response from the operator: Thank you very much!!! Hope to see you soon

Just do it, you'll have no regerets

What a superb day, from the moment we were picked up from our hotel at 07:45 we were looked after faultlessly. So, a 45 minute drive took us to our location and we got the first sight of our buggies for the first stage of our trip, these look like glorified golf carts but they're much more than that... ok, not the fastest vehicle in the world but more than adequate for the trails we were taking on and good fun.... A 30 minute fun filled drive through some very dusty trails (either take your own bandannas or take advantage of those on sale for $5) brings you to an area where you park up your buggy and take a walk along a trail to a hidden lagoon, the beauty of this is beyond description and the water is so clear its almost beyond belief. Mrs Davies and I took full advantage of this area and spent all the available time here in the water cooling off and washing off the dust from the drive. After our time in the pool we got back to the buggies and made our way back to the base to view photographs taken during our morning. A word of caution here, the photographs you're shown back at base aren't the only ones you'll get on your $40 disc, you get some random photographs of the Dominican Republic (very nice) and some typical Dominican music (also very nice) but you'll also get all the others on your tour on there as well. So, on with the day...... After this we were picked up on a coach and taken to Playa Blanca where we were seated at a table on the beach and served with some very tasty food... Three types of salad to start, green salad, lobster caprese and a pasta dish.... Mrs Davies and I made the mistake of thinking this was the only course so had generous helpings of this. Drinks available here? Rum & Coke, Rum & Sprite, Rum, plain sprite, plain coke or beer.... these were topped up non stop just to make sure you didn't dehydrate :-) Having filled up with this we were then horrified to spot the main course coming out, a chicken dish, a seafood pasta and boiled rice, how could we refuse? This course suitably demolished we looked on in pain as desert was served, chocolate cake and tiramisu.... How much more could we take? The 45 minute break after food while we waited for the catamaran was more than welcome, we paddled in the warm Caribbean sea and completely ignored the seaweed washing around our ankles. When the time came to board the catamaran we waded out in the shallow water (through the seaweed again) and climbed aboard via ladders at the rear. We sailed out into the Caribbean and the rum started to flow and kept flowing. The sandbank in the middle of the sea came as a complete surprise, to be walking in clear waist deep water that far out to sea was a superb experience not to be missed. Did I mention the rum that kept flowing? All in all, a tremendous day out, if you only do one excursion on your trip to the Dominican Republic make it this one.

Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your experience Duncan.

    That lagoon though...

Another must do in Punta Cana! An air conditioned bus picked us up at our hotel and drove us about 30 minutes to a resort where our first stop was the off-road buggies and lagoon. Down side, looooong walk to/from the lagoon to where you park the buggies. Plus side, the lagoon. It was AMAZING. Crystal clear, cool water. Definitely needed after the off-roading driving and long walk. Next, you get on another air conditioned bus that takes you to the marina where you get on a catamaran. SO MUCH FUN. I will warn you though, when being dropped off at Playa Blanca for lunch, you have to walk through the water (and LOTS of stinky seaweed) to get to the beach. However, the lunch was amazing! After we ate we got to spend about 30 minutes on the beach before boarding the catamaran and heading to the sandbar to swim. The water felt amazing and was crystal clear! We only got to swim about 20 minutes or so, which wasn't near long enough. Oh, and did I mention the continuous flow of Rum, Soda and Water?! This excursion did not disappoint and was definitely worth the month.

How much does Buggy for 2 in Punta Cana with Cenote & Off-Road Adventure cost?

    +

Prices start at $50 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Punta Cana usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Buggy for 2 in Punta Cana with Cenote & Off-Road Adventure take?

Is Buggy for 2 in Punta Cana with Cenote & Off-Road Adventure worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 61 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.4/5 across 47 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Punta Cana, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Buggy for 2 in Punta Cana with Cenote & Off-Road Adventure?

    +

Is Buggy for 2 in Punta Cana with Cenote & Off-Road Adventure suitable for kids and families?

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Buggy for 2 in Punta Cana with Cenote & Off-Road Adventure?

    +

Around 16 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Punta Cana can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Punta Cana and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

What are the best things to do in Punta Cana?

    +

On Outty we rank every Punta Cana experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Punta Cana Zipline - 8 lines and a suspenseful hanging bridge, Buggy Excursion to Macau Beach and Natural Cave, Small Group Buggy Tour to Water Cave and Macao Beach. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Punta Cana?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Punta Cana?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
