Best Part? The snacks.
This excursion was not terribly expensive and we had heard the "mud buggies" were a hoot so we gave it a try. There were exactly 3 mud puddles, and only one that splashed us. We were anticipating a lot more from the reviews and photos. The worst part, however, were that the buggies, both on the route that day, did not seem to have brakes that worked. We careened down a hill, bouncing off the buggy in front of us and luckily came to a stop in the grass to the side. This was even after a lead-buggy jumped in front of us to try and slow us down. Scared the hell out of my husband. They had to change out not only our buggy but the couple's in front of us as well (0 for 2). On the upside, the boss-man was super friendly and spoke English well enough for us to understand so we appreciated that. The other gentleman, no English at all, and they were trying to give us directions. The snacks at the end were quite yummy though and there was a puppy to play with. We chalked it up to "if we didn't try, we would never have known."
Response from the operator: Thank you very much for sharing your experience, although it doesn't sound like a 2-star experience, that discourages me a little, but I'm grateful to you, we promise you better team next time, receive a warm hug from our island.

Buggy trip Bayahibe
This was such a fun trip and the guys that took us were brilliant. It was just myself and my husband so we had a real VIP experience. At the end we were provided with authentic Dominican snacks which were delicious.

I recommend them
The buggy ride was amazing. The adrenaline and beauty of the landscapes were incomparable. The Bayahíbe beach tour was the highlight. Definitely an experience I would recommend to anyone visiting there 💕

Let's drive through fields in buggies!
Spectacular experience, leaving at 8:30 and 12 noon you are back at the hotel, on the way there we went in buggies and on the way back in a four-wheeler, they showed us the world of sugar cane and gave us fruits and drinks, everything was great then you They offer the photos they take of you for 25 dollars. You also go to the Chavón River, which is where they film movies and series.

Why this scores 59
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Buggie Adventure Bayahibe: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for La Romana.
How much does Buggie Adventure Bayahibe cost?
+
Prices start at $45 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in La Romana usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Buggie Adventure Bayahibe take?
+
Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in La Romana is not rushed.
Is Buggie Adventure Bayahibe worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 59 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.7/5 across 9 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in La Romana, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Buggie Adventure Bayahibe?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Buggie Adventure Bayahibe suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 18. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 2-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Buggie Adventure Bayahibe?
+
Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in La Romana can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in La Romana and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Buggie Adventure Bayahibe start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central La Romana within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in La Romana?
+
On Outty we rank every La Romana experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Small Group: Saona Island Full Day Tour, Saona Island small group and relax - luxury catamaran, #1 Punta Cana Hip Hop Adults Only Party Boat with Open Bar & DJ. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit La Romana?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in La Romana?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
