Professional Company, great bikes, thoughtful touches.
An excellent company that has thought of many nice touches. Be aware that your morning pickup is, literally, the bed of a pickup truck outfitted with bench seats and a cover. Just wear a jacket for the ride up and ditch it when you start to ride. The guides give you a lot of information about the upcoming trail and 1 guide generally is taking lots of photos and videos you'll be able to peruse after the ride. At the shop you get a small backpack to use and a couple of large water bottles. Bring 1 more water of your own. The pack includes some fruit, sticky rice and some electrolyte mix, as your lunch isn't really until 2 or 3 when you finish riding. You don't really wants a full lunch and then start riding again anyway. It's a beautiful ride up high over Chiang Mai with plenty of challenging uphill and downhill. After walking from temple to temple, this was an excellent, physically-challenging break.
Response from the operator: Thank you very much for your detailed and thoughtful review. We’re really glad to hear you enjoyed the ride and appreciated the small touches we prepare along the way. It’s great to know the trail briefing, photos and videos, and support from our guides enhanced your experience. We’re also happy the ride offered a rewarding physical challenge and a refreshing change after temple visits. We truly appreciate your helpful tips for future riders and hope to welcome you back for another adventure in Chiang Mai soon.

Misty mountain ride! 10/10

What a great operation! Good guides, good gear, great fun!
What a great operation! Good guides, good gear, great fun! We spent the day biking in the pouring rain and came back soaked to the bone and covered in mud head to toe. Kom was with us in the ride and he was enthusiastic yet patient and enjoyed showing us the views and making sure we had photo documentation of everything. Lek drove the shuttle vehicle and made sure we were all set up for the day. Vivi was so gracious and enthusiastic in the office when I signed up. These 3 are the heart of this operation and are so good at what they do. They lead these trips out of a love of the activity and that makes all the difference!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your amazing feedback! We're thrilled you embraced the adventure—even in the pouring rain—and had such a memorable day out on the trails! It means a lot to hear that Kom, Lek, and Vivi helped make your experience so special. You're absolutely right—they truly love what they do, and we're so lucky to have them at the heart of our team. Thanks again for riding with us—we hope to welcome you back for another muddy, fun-filled adventure soon! 🚴♂️🌧️😊

A top quality experience
A really professional and very friendly organisation and an amazing route through forest on a mix of single track and dirt roads. YT full suspension bike was in great condition and Lek, my guide, was fantastic. It’s worth noting that because of the heavy rain in Northern Thailand at the moment much of the route is extremely slippery and some tracks slightly washed away making the Buffalo Soldier route quite challenging. A very welcome lunch at the end in stunning surroundings. All top quality from start to finish.
Response from the operator: Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review! We truly appreciate your kind words and will be sure to pass your message along to our guide, Lek. Your support means a lot to the Trailhead team, and we look forward to welcoming you back on your next adventure.

Brilliant day mountain biking
We had a brilliant day with Trailhead. We went on the Buffalo Soldier tour which took us through the forests and villages above Chiang Mai. Everything was really well organized and all equipment was of a good standard. It was mainly on dual track with some optional single track sections which were quite technical. Part of our family went on the Sticky Waterfall mountain bike tour which they also really enjoyed. The highlight of our stay in Chiang Mai.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us a 5-star review! We’re thrilled to hear that you enjoyed and were impressed by your biking experiences with us, whether it was the 'Buffalo Soldier' or 'Sticky Waterfall Explorer' trip. It was wonderful to see the smiles and warmth within your family. We sincerely hope to have the pleasure of serving you again in the future.

Buffalo Soldier Full Day Mountain Biking Tour Chiang Mai: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Chiang Mai.
How much does Buffalo Soldier Full Day Mountain Biking Tour Chiang Mai cost?
+
Prices start at $3499 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Chiang Mai usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Buffalo Soldier Full Day Mountain Biking Tour Chiang Mai take?
+
Plan for about 7 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Chiang Mai is not rushed.
Is Buffalo Soldier Full Day Mountain Biking Tour Chiang Mai worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 69 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 41 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Chiang Mai, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Buffalo Soldier Full Day Mountain Biking Tour Chiang Mai?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Buffalo Soldier Full Day Mountain Biking Tour Chiang Mai suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 15. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 7-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Buffalo Soldier Full Day Mountain Biking Tour Chiang Mai?
+
Around 14 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Chiang Mai can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Chiang Mai and add a light layer if any part of the 7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Buffalo Soldier Full Day Mountain Biking Tour Chiang Mai start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Chiang Mai within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Chiang Mai?
+
On Outty we rank every Chiang Mai experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Half-Day Thai Cooking Class at Organic Farm in Chiang Mai, Full Day Thai Cooking at Farm (Chiang Mai), Thai and Akha Cooking Class in Chiang Mai. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Chiang Mai?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Chiang Mai?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
