A fun break from sightseeing

This was a great break from several days of sightseeing. The trail is physically challenging as there are several long steeper section to climb. But as our guide told us, you can "hike and bike." Their singletracks are nothing like those in the states, but still fun to try and the views are beautiful, including a very short walk to a waterfall. They give you all of your equipment, including a snack, and the hot lunch at the end of the ride was delicious. It was a great break from the hectic of Chiang Mai. They offer many different rides to match your skill level, so I'd definitely recommend giving it a try.

Response from the operator: Thank you very much for your kind review! We’re glad you enjoyed the challenge, the beautiful views, and the overall experience. It’s great to hear that the ride was a refreshing break from the busy city. We hope to welcome you back again for another ride in the future! 🚴‍♂️🌿

Very enjoyable

Highly recommend this ride event, it was a much harder ride than expected but really enjoyable. My guide, Kom, was very friendly and took lots of photos and videos, which were much appreciated. Very enjoyable day and next next in Chiangmai I will join again.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your great review! We’re thrilled to hear that you had such an enjoyable experience, even though the ride turned out to be more challenging than expected. Kom is an awesome guide, and we're so glad you appreciated the photos and videos — it's always nice to have memories of the adventure! We can’t wait to have you back next time you're in Chiang Mai for more fun rides!

very challenging and interesting experience

was an unprecedented experience for me, I enjoyed it a lot, very challenging in beautiful mountain views two small notes for improvement, one is that the trail was somewhat dangerous and not appropriate for beginner bikers, risky, and requires physical ability i would expect to be a classification of participants based on experience

Response from the operator: Thanks for taking the time to review us on Trip Advisor. We're glad you enjoyed the experience despite finding it a challenge. Whilst we appreciate your feedback about the improvement, we describe the difficulty as " just the right amount of variety for moderate to experienced cyclists." and make no mention of it being a beginner tour but we will see where we can make this statement more bold / clearer though. We commend you for finishing the tour though and hope you continue mountain biking!

Buffalo Soldier Trail Mountain Biking Tour from Chiang Mai with Lunch: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Chiang Mai.

How much does Buffalo Soldier Trail Mountain Biking Tour from Chiang Mai with Lunch cost?

+

Prices start at $3499 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Chiang Mai usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Buffalo Soldier Trail Mountain Biking Tour from Chiang Mai with Lunch take?

+

Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Chiang Mai is not rushed.

Is Buffalo Soldier Trail Mountain Biking Tour from Chiang Mai with Lunch worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 60 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 15 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Chiang Mai, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Buffalo Soldier Trail Mountain Biking Tour from Chiang Mai with Lunch?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Buffalo Soldier Trail Mountain Biking Tour from Chiang Mai with Lunch suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 18. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 8-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Buffalo Soldier Trail Mountain Biking Tour from Chiang Mai with Lunch?

+

Around 5 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Chiang Mai can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Chiang Mai and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Buffalo Soldier Trail Mountain Biking Tour from Chiang Mai with Lunch start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Chiang Mai within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Chiang Mai?

+

On Outty we rank every Chiang Mai experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Half-Day Thai Cooking Class at Organic Farm in Chiang Mai, Full Day Thai Cooking at Farm (Chiang Mai), Thai and Akha Cooking Class in Chiang Mai. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Chiang Mai?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Chiang Mai?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
