Buena Vista Mega Combo From Guanacaste

Full Day Excursion With Lots to Do For People Of All Ages

My wife and I had a great time on the Buena Vista Combo Adventure excursion. They picked us up at our resort and returned us there when the tour was over. This excursion has it all. On the way to our destination up in the mountain our guide explained the differing climate zones in Costa Rica and showed us the active (but not erupting) volcano in the distance. Once you arrive at the location you have your choice of ziplining or walking the suspended bridges, which is what we did. As our guide led us across the bridges, he pointed out various local plants and wildlife. The highlight was when we encountered a troop of capuchin monkeys, also known as the white-faced capuchin, up in the trees. We got some great pics and watched as the male tried to chase us away by shaking and snapping off limbs and tossing them at us! There's a 2300 foot water slide (long not tall) that zigzags through the jungle that looked like a lot of fun, but we declined as it was rainy and chilly and the water was "refreshing" as our guide put it. We instead went for a hike through the jungle where we saw some howler monkeys up in the trees above us and a coati mundi, which is a relative of a racoon. After that we stopped off at a place that explained how sugar cane was processed where we got to lead the ox that pulled the masher that extracted the sweet liquid from the cane, followed by a demonstration of making the pottery famous in the area. Afterwards we were taken to the hall where we were served a very good lunch consisting of local dishes. After lunch we walked over to the stables where we went on a 30 minute guided horseback ride down the jungle road. The horses were gentle and knew the way, so even inexperience riders should have no problem at all. Then we loaded up on a trailer pulled by a tractor up into the mountain to a natural hot spring, where we were encouraged to smear warm mud on our bodies, spend some time in the sauna, and eventually rinse off under a shower head. Next we followed a trail to the hot springs which features 3 different pools of varying temperatures where we spent 30-40 minutes soaking in the waters before heading back to our transport which took us back to our resort. The trip back was quiet as we were pretty tired, and I think I dozed off for a while. I'd recommend this excursion for people of all ages as long as they are able to hike a little and navigate the suspended bridges. Adventure seekers would like the zip lining and the water slide through the jungle.

Great Time!!! Great Value!!!

I had a great time with my two teenage sons doing the mega combo. There were no injuries. For the amount of money we paid, this excursion had excellent value which included lunch, zip lining, horseback riding, Hot Springs, and a wild waterslide. I highly recommend this excursion. There were a few small opportunities which did not take away from the quality of my experience. During the zip line training, English was a second language for the Instructor. On top of that, there was another training session going on at the same time 20 feet away. It was difficult to hear and understand the safety instructions. You need to rush to go from one zip line to another so you don’t hold up the line. It felt like going through the TSA line at airport. I recommend bringing a waterproof camera or waterproof GoPro or using a waterproof lanyard to hold your cell phone so you can take pictures. Make sure you don’t leave the tour without buying your photos. Our guide accidentally took us back to the hotel without giving us a chance to buy our photos from the gift shop. We eventually were able to get the photos later on. I recommend booking all your excursions through Urania Duarte of Destination services using Whatsapp (Urania.Duarte@tui.com). Urania is sponsored by Costco and so I trust her with my credit card number. I recommend contacting her 1-2 weeks before you arrive. She gave phenomenal advice and excellent rates. She scheduled us for the Buena Vista Mega Combo. We had an amazing time!!! I highly recommend the excursion!

The Best Day!!

If you want to do it all in 1 trip, this is it! We booked directly with the company (Belushi). We ziplined (several), hiked the suspension bridge, horseback rides through the forest, tubed down the waterslide, relaxed in the volcanic mud bath and hot springs and had a fantastic lunch. We had an absolute amazing day with our fabulous guide, Alonso and our driver, Meneses. Our activities were very well run and we always felt safe. The views from the several ziplines were beautiful and excelerating. Well worth the money.

Unforgettable Day

Our family were fortunate to be able to go on this tour, which include hanging bridges, zip lining, horseback riding, a cultural experience, delicious traditional, Costa Rican lunch, a jungle waterslide, and finally a trip to the Hot Springs at the end of the day for some relaxation. Would absolutely recommend to any one who enjoys an active day in nature.

Amazing adventure!

We had an incredible day on this excursion that was equally enjoyed by everyone in the family. Our tour guide Minor and driver Michael were fantastic. The zip lines and water slide were exhilarating and the horseback riding and cultural center were super chill. The surrounding environment could not be more spectacular. Booking through Costco gave us a good deal and private transportation.
