Great food and spots
Anna was lovely and very knowledgeable about the city. The food was delicious and was a great way to experience the culture. Would definitely recommend this tour!
via Tripadvisor
Good choice.
Very nice afternoon. Friendly, knowledgeable guide, good local, casual eateries. The food was good and Anna chose local-owned businesses. Alcoholic beverages were included at each stop, a little much for early afternoon. We had some trouble finding our guide having only the street address. We have only wifi calling and messaging, so we had to find wifi site before we could make contact. The other couple on the tour was very understanding about having to wait for us. Overall the tour was comfortable and satisfying.
Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your experience with us! We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed discovering Budapest through its local eateries and that our guide helped make the afternoon enjoyable and informative. We truly appreciate your feedback and will keep it in mind as we continue improving our experiences. Thank you for joining us, and we hope to welcome you on another Hidden Gems adventure in the future!

First time tourists in Budapest
We had an excellent day going around Budapest with Margarita. We had already been in Budapest for a couple of days and had an underwhelming experience with traditional Hungarian food. She gave us an excellent and delicious exposure to the food scene in Budapest. We feel that we now have a good understanding of Hungarian food. In addition to the food tour, she also gave us a good brief history of Budapest. She brought us around neighborhoods that we wouldn’t have explored on our own. Learned a lot of stuff that you tube and social media could not provide.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful review. We're delighted to hear that Margarita helped you discover a new side of Budapest through its food, neighbourhoods, and history. We're especially happy that the experience gave you a deeper understanding of Hungarian cuisine beyond what you could find online. Thank you for joining us, and we hope to welcome you on another Hidden Gems adventure in the future!

Fun experience
Luis guided our group of 9 friends and family. He was fun and very informative. More sausages and less langos! We tasted a variety of treats.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful review. We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed discovering a variety of Hungarian flavours and that Luis helped make the experience both fun and informative. We appreciate your feedback and thank you for joining us. We hope to welcome you on another Hidden Gems adventure in the future!

Best tour in Europe
Luis, our tour guide has been sculpting this tour so as to hit the highlights of Hungarian food while avoiding the highly populated tourist areas. The food was excellent plus we could converse with him in a quiet environment. The group was small which made it ideal. Come very hungry because there is a lot of food. The walk is flat and without obstacles. Lots of food information and Hungarian history. The most enjoyable tour I’ve had in Europe so far.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful review and recommendation. We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed discovering authentic Hungarian food away from the busiest tourist areas and that the small group experience made the tour even more enjoyable. We're especially pleased that Luis's knowledge and passion helped make it your favourite tour in Europe. Thank you for joining us, and we hope to welcome you on another Hidden Gems adventure in the future!

Why this scores 67
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Budapest Food Tasting Tour of Hidden Gems (Small Groups): questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Budapest.
How much does Budapest Food Tasting Tour of Hidden Gems (Small Groups) cost?
+
Prices start at $87 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Budapest usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Budapest Food Tasting Tour of Hidden Gems (Small Groups) take?
+
Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Budapest is not rushed.
Is Budapest Food Tasting Tour of Hidden Gems (Small Groups) worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 67 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 45 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Budapest, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Budapest Food Tasting Tour of Hidden Gems (Small Groups)?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Budapest Food Tasting Tour of Hidden Gems (Small Groups) suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Budapest Food Tasting Tour of Hidden Gems (Small Groups)?
+
Around 16 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Budapest can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Budapest and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Budapest Food Tasting Tour of Hidden Gems (Small Groups) start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Budapest within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Budapest?
+
On Outty we rank every Budapest experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Budapest City Landmarks Walking Tour in 2 Hours, Countryside Half-day Gastro-Wine Tour from Budapest Meal & pickup, Budapest free walking tour: Parliament and Shoes Memorial. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Budapest?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Budapest?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
