A taste of Hungary with Ana
Ana is a joy! She is knowledgeable, very accommodating, and open. She provided a history and understanding of not only the food we were eating, but also about Hungarian culture and history. We had goulash at a local restaurant. It was delicious! We then had a local beer with our Langos. It was amazing! After that we had Hungarian sausage, with a potato and onion side, beets, and a slaw. Everything was very tasty! Finally, we ended with a Struedel tasting of 3 different types! Everything was very enjoyable! I would highly recommend this tour, especially with Ana!

Terrible tour, total rip-off! Stay away!
Do not book this tour! Total rip-off! Although our guide was very sweet, the food was a joke! Bad street food at best, and included a stop at a convenience store to grab a can of beer to bring to an outside Langos shop. Had to split a Langos there which cost about $6. For $92 a person, this was the biggest rip-off tour I have ever done. Viator, you have lost a long-time customer. Do better!
Response from the operator: This is a local Hungarian food tour, designed around places and foods that locals actually enjoy, rather than tourist-oriented restaurants. During the tour, we take our guests to a highly rated local goulash spot with a beautiful view of the Basilica, as well as a traditional sausage place where guests even have the opportunity to meet the owner. We also visit one of Budapest’s well-known ruin bars. Regarding the lángos, this is a large lángos intended to be shared between two people. We do this intentionally because the tour includes several different food stops. If we provided a full lángos per person, many guests would be completely full and unable to enjoy the rest of the food. In fact, during your tour, the lángos was not even completely finished. We also want to clarify the beer situation. The lángos venue does not sell beer, but we have an arrangement with the venue that allows us to bring local Hungarian beer so our guests can enjoy it together with their lángos. The purpose is precisely to give guests the opportunity to try a local beer combination that they otherwise would not be able to experience at that stop. You had also requested beer during the tour, which is why we arranged it. We understand that taste and expectations are subjective, but describing the experience as a “rip-off” is particularly disappointing when the tour delivered exactly what is advertised: local Hungarian food, traditional places, local drinks, and authentic experiences rather than expensive tourist restaurants. We are always open to constructive feedback, but we feel this review does not fairly represent the experience or what is included in the tour. We hope you can understand the reasoning behind the food portions and the local approach of our experience.

Fun walking food tour
This was a great food tour where we got to try a number of local foods, including goulash, Làngos (a savory donut type street food!), and of course local sausage! Anna is a great guide, full of energy and knowledge! We fully enjoyed the tour and had a great time in the city center of Budapest! (Pest side).

Taking the Budapest Food...
