Amazing tour of Montalcino!
Our Brunello tour with Tuscany Uncorked was nothing short of exceptional. Spending the day with Gabriele was a masterclass in understanding Montalcino—not just the wines, but the land, the people, and the centuries of history that shaped one of Italy’s most important wine regions. Gabriele has a rare gift for context. He doesn’t just give you the wines; he connects the dots between Brunello di Montalcino, the geology, the microclimates, the traditions, and the evolution of the appellation. Suddenly the hills, the vineyards, and the producers all make sense in a deeper way. It transforms the experience from a tasting into true understanding. And the wines—amazing. Beautiful expressions of Sangiovese, each with its own personality and story, made even more meaningful by the insight Gabriele brings to every stop. Montalcino is a special place, and Tuscany Uncorked brings it to life with warmth, expertise, and genuine passion. A fantastic experience from start to finish. We learned so much and would absolutely do it again.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for this fantastic review! Montalcino is one of those places where the beauty is obvious, but the reasons behind the wines are hidden in the details: altitude, exposures, soils, and the choices each family makes year after year. I’m really happy you felt that click, where the landscape and the glass finally speak the same language. It was a real pleasure spending the day together. Next time we’ll open a few more doors… and a few more bottles!

Exceptional
Our two‑day custom wine tour with Gabrielle was exceptional from start to finish. His expertise as a wine educator added real depth to every tasting and vineyard visit, and his warm, personable style made the entire experience feel effortless. We appreciated how thoughtfully everything was arranged. The pacing was relaxed, never rushed, and every detail was handled with care. Gabrielle tailored the tour to our interests in a way that felt both professional and genuinely personal. It was one of the most memorable wine experiences we’ve had, and we would gladly recommend Gabrielle to anyone looking for a truly elevated tour.
Response from the operator: Ciao Lori, thank you so much for taking the time to write this. Spending two days together and being able to shape the itinerary around your interests is exactly why we love doing wine tours. It turns tastings into real conversations, not a schedule to ‘survive’. It was a pleasure hosting you both 🍷

Fantastic Tour
Truly phenomenal experience. My guide Gabriele took me on as a solo traveler and provided and excellent experience with three wineries in the Montalcino region of Tuscany. The Brunellos were incredible.
Response from the operator: Grazie so much for this! Hosting you and shape the day around your curiosity and your pace, and go deeper into what makes Montalcino so special was fantastic! I’m glad you enjoyed the three-winery flow and, of course, the Brunellos… That region has an incredible way of showing how many “voices” Sangiovese can have in the glass. It was a real pleasure spending the day with you sharing opinions about onu of the most important Tuscan wine.

Unforgettable Experience in Montalcino and Chianti with Gabriele and Tuscany Uncorked
Our experience with Tuscany Uncorked was incredible (quite possibly my two favorite days from our trip Italy and Switzerland!). We visited the Brunello region and the Chianti region on separate days. Gabriele was knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating; he was able to take our requests for each region and create a personalized experience that allowed us to visit both family-run wineries and large regional wine producers. From private winery tours, outstanding food, and elevated tasting experiences, our time with Gabriele and Tuscany Uncorked was unmatched. I was excited for wonderful wine and the gorgeous Tuscan countryside, and Tuscany Uncorked more than delivered. This experience was more than I could have ever imagined and will forever be the best highlight of our vacation! Thank you for the best memories (and wine!!).
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your very kind words Ashley. I’m thrilled your days with Tuscany Uncorked were highlights of your trip, and that the mix of family-run estates and iconic producers hit the mark. It was a pleasure tailoring the tours and sharing great wine, food, and stories with you. When you’re back in Tuscany, we have to definitely share another glass of wine together!

Authentic Tuscan Wine Experience – From Family Estates to Iconic Wineries
From start to finish, our experience with Tuscany Uncorked was absolutely exceptional. One of the main reasons we chose this company was that Gabriele gave us the flexibility to pick specific wineries we wanted to visit and then built the tours around our choices. That personal touch set the tone for a truly customized experience. We booked two tours: one in Montalcino and one in Chianti, and Gabriele was our guide for both. He was outstanding—knowledgeable, personable, and deeply passionate about Tuscan wine and culture. In Montalcino, we explored Brunello wineries where we were welcomed like family, tasting incredible vintages while hearing the fascinating stories of the land and the winemakers. In Chianti, we experienced a completely different style of wine and landscape, with breathtaking views around every corner. Gabriele’s insights tied everything together, turning each tasting into a deeper understanding of the region. What we loved most was seeing both sides of the Tuscan wine industry. At intimate, family-run estates like La Massa and La Fornace, we got a firsthand look at the care and passion that goes into every bottle. Then, at renowned large-scale producers like Banfi and Antinori, we were able to experience the impressive scale, history, and innovation that has made Tuscan wines famous worldwide. Experiencing both ends of the spectrum gave us a true appreciation for the diversity and depth of winemaking in Tuscany. Another highlight of both tours were the multi-course meals. Each lunch was a feast—handmade pasta, local cheeses, hearty traditional dishes, and perfectly paired wines. It wasn’t just a meal; it was an authentic Tuscan experience. Sitting down for a long, relaxed lunch in the countryside after a morning of tastings made each day feel complete. What stood out most to us was the seamless blend of planning, knowledge, and hospitality. Every stop was thoughtfully chosen, every interaction felt genuine, and we never once felt rushed. Tuscany Uncorked made us feel like honored guests rather than just tourists passing through. If you are planning a trip to Tuscany and want to experience wine, food, and culture in the most authentic and enjoyable way, I can’t recommend Tuscany Uncorked highly enough. These tours were the highlight of our time in Italy, and we will absolutely book with them again on our next visit.
Response from the operator: Dear John, thank you so much for this beautiful review! It was a pleasure shaping both days around your winery picks and guiding you through Montalcino and Chianti. Hearing that you felt welcomed, never rushed, and truly connected to the stories behind each glass means the world to me. Simply grazie!

Why this scores 61
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Brunello Wine Tour Experience Small Group Only: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Florence.
How much does Brunello Wine Tour Experience Small Group Only cost?
+
Prices start at $290 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Florence usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Brunello Wine Tour Experience Small Group Only take?
+
Plan for about 9 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Florence is not rushed.
Is Brunello Wine Tour Experience Small Group Only worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 61 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 7 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Florence, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Brunello Wine Tour Experience Small Group Only?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Brunello Wine Tour Experience Small Group Only suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 16. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 9-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Brunello Wine Tour Experience Small Group Only?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Florence can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Florence and add a light layer if any part of the 9-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Brunello Wine Tour Experience Small Group Only start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Florence within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Florence?
+
On Outty we rank every Florence experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include The Best tour in Florence: Renaissance & Medici Tales - guided by a STORYTELLER, Florence Pizza or Pasta Class & Gelato Making at a Tuscan Farm, Small group Tuscan Wineries, Olive Oil & Gourmet Lunch or Dinner. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Florence?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Florence?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
