Unforgettable day with Lucia

We did the Carmignano tour with Lucia as our guide. We were 2 couples who are friends alone with Lucia, so we had a private tour ! The drive to and from both wineries was great, Lucia entertained us the whole time on wine and Italia-related topics. Conversation was very easy and we learn many things about wine and Italia! The first winery was beautiful, the wines were good (though not exceptional by our taste) and they gave us 5 different kinds of cheese to taste that were great ! The second winery (the Carmignano one) was exceptional ; beautiful views, historic winery, 4 delicious wines (especially the Carmignano and the Vinsanto) and an amazing tuscan lunch. The whole experience was unforgettable, a clear highlight of our stay in Italy! Lucia was very nice, knowledgeable, had a great sense of humour and made us feel comfortable within minutes. The price of the tour is more expensive than others we found, but the experience was totally worth every penny! You would not get this kind of tour with 20+ people. 100% would recommend booking the Carmignano Tour with Lucia. Thank you so much Lucia, Guillaume, Pascal, Ellie-Ann and David from Montreal, Canada.

Response from the operator: Guillaume, thank you so much for this beautiful review. We are truly happy to read that the Carmignano tour became one of the highlights of your stay in Italy. That is exactly what we love… a relaxed, personal experience with good conversation, beautiful places, real food, and people who make the wines come alive. Lucia will be so happy to read your words. Her knowledge, kindness, and sense of humor are such an important part of the way we love to share Tuscany. We also really appreciate your comment about the value of the tour. We know this kind of experience is different from a large group tour, and it means a lot to know that you felt the difference was worth it. Thank you again for spending the day with us. It was a pleasure to welcome you, and we hope to see you again for another wine adventure in Tuscany.

Highlight of the trip!!!

This was an unforgettable experience! Gabrielle was an amazing guide, incredibly knowledgeable and genuinely fun to be with. He created a magical day for us and our experience at Carmignano was the highlight of our trip in Tuscany. We really got to know the winemakers and learn about their incredible craft. We left full of amazing food and beautiful wine. Can’t wait to book again!!!

Response from the operator: Thank you very much for this wonderful review! I’m truly happy to read that your day in Carmignano became one of the highlights of your trip in Tuscany. It was a real pleasure spending the day with you, introducing you to the winemakers, their stories, their craft, and of course all the food and wine that made the experience complete. “Magical day” is one of the best compliments we could receive, because that is exactly what we hope our guests take home: not just a tasting, but a memory. Thank you again for choosing Tuscany Uncorked. I would be very happy to welcome you back for another wine adventure in Tuscany…

Amazing!

This was a truly amazing experience! It felt really different from other wine tours I have been on, visiting unique vineyards off the beaten track. I ate one of the best meals I have ever eaten, all prepared by the vineyard owner using ingredients from her garden. The guide taught us lots of new things and it was really engaging. It really was such a memorable experience.

Response from the operator: Thank you for joining us and for understanding the spirit of the day so clearly. That means a lot to us. This is exactly the kind of day we love to create: not the obvious Tuscany, not the crowded winery circuit, but places where wine, food, landscape, and people still feel genuinely connected. We are so glad the experience stayed with you… especially the lunch, because that table says so much about this part of Tuscany: ingredients from the garden, wines from the cellar, recipes that don’t need to be reinvented, and a host who cooks because hospitality is part of who she is.

The perfect Tuscan wine tour for wine aficionados and initiates alike

I cannot recommend the Carmignano wine tour with Gabriele highly enough!! His deep knowledge about and passion for wine (especially Italian wine!) and the history and tradition of Italian winemaking really shone through and transformed the tour from amazing to absolutely spectacular. He made the tour fascinating for everyone in our mixed group of seasoned wine aficionados and initiates alike. We learned all about the hidden gem of Carmignano, got to meet small, local, organic winemakers and farmers, and felt like part of the family the entire time. Most importantly, we tasted stunning wines and came away with some new favorites that feel like well-kept local secrets!

Response from the operator: Thank you Allie, what a beautiful review to read. Sharing Carmignano, as I told you during the tour, is one of my favorite things to do, precisely because it still feels like the Tuscany people dream of: small farms, organic growers, and a sense of place that’s hard to find. Thank you again for choosing us, and if you ever return to Tuscany, we’d be delighted to welcome you back.

The only wine tour you should consider in Tuscany

This was my 8th wine tour in the last 5 years. 3rd one with Gabriele and our first with him in his new company. This was hands down the greatest tour. The others were all nice, but upon reflection, they were more the cookie-cutter, run-of-the-mill tours. This tour was an immersion in the Tuscany experience. In Carmignano, we had lunch in the winemaker's ancient kitchen with incredible food and wine. A tour with Gabriele is a tour of not just the wine but of the culture. Hard to fully explain how much greater this was than the other 7 tours. And while every wine guide has been great, there is none more knowledgeable than Gabriele. He literally trained many of the other guides. Don't miss out on this experience. Tuscany Uncorked with Garbiele is an experience you will cherish forever.

Response from the operator: Patrick, thank you for taking the time to write a review on TripAdvisor. We appreciate that you noticed the difference between a standard “wine tour” and a day that actually feels like Tuscany. Carmignano is one of those places where the culture and the glass are inseparable, and I’m so glad that lunch in the winemaker’s kitchen was a highlight for you. It’s always a pleasure having you with us, third tour together is a true compliment. I look forward to welcoming you back for the next chapter, whenever Tuscany calls again.

Carmignano Wine Tour with a Somm Small Group: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Florence.

How much does Carmignano Wine Tour with a Somm Small Group cost?

+

Prices start at $200 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Florence usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Carmignano Wine Tour with a Somm Small Group take?

+

Plan for about 7 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Florence is not rushed.

Is Carmignano Wine Tour with a Somm Small Group worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 61 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Florence, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Carmignano Wine Tour with a Somm Small Group?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Carmignano Wine Tour with a Somm Small Group suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 16. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 7-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Carmignano Wine Tour with a Somm Small Group?

+

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Florence can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Florence and add a light layer if any part of the 7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Carmignano Wine Tour with a Somm Small Group start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Florence within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Florence?

+

On Outty we rank every Florence experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include The Best tour in Florence: Renaissance & Medici Tales - guided by a STORYTELLER, Florence Pizza or Pasta Class & Gelato Making at a Tuscan Farm, Small group Tuscan Wineries, Olive Oil & Gourmet Lunch or Dinner. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Florence?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Florence?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
