A great experience! You are immersed in the ancient Mexican world of the Mayas and the Aztecs for whom chocolate was the drink of the gods and cocoa beans a means of payment. Choco-Story, Chocolate Museum
The Choco-Story museum can be found in Bruges, housed in an ancient building dating from the 15th century. The museum occupies 4 stories and recounts the history of cocoa and chocolate. More than 1,000 ancient objects and 80 information boards, explain the story of how chocolate evolved from its origins as a spicy Mayan drink to become the delicious sweet that we all love today. The children’s visit has been specially designed with low information boards and show-cases. The visit will end with a demonstration of how to make Belgian chocolate sweets which can be sampled.

Disappointing don’t bother
The museum was a big disappointment for our entire family. Jam packed, you explore three floors by scanning a QR code with supplied device. You learn about chocolate from early to modern day Bruges. Love history but the presentation was boring. Demonstration at end was very short.

Our museum uses audioguides to guide visitors through the different floors and tell the story of chocolate from its origins to the present day. We also have several interactive games and elements throughout the museum, particularly aimed at making the experience more engaging for families. Regarding the crowds, the museum can indeed be a little busier than usual during the summer holidays, weekends and rainy days, when many visitors choose indoor activities. We’re sorry this affected your experience. The praline demonstration at the end is intentionally a short live demonstration, followed by a tasting, although we understand that you may have been expecting a more extensive presentation. Fun and informative
Fab experience, perfect for kids and lots to see and do. The chocolate at end was a real hit!! Only thing is that many of the interactive activities weren’t working properly which the kids were disappointed about.

Excellent tour.
A very interesting tour with a chance to see a demonstration and try the products at the end. Central located and easy to get to.

Great fun and very interesting
We did the chocolate workshop, which was great fun and we left loaded down with our own delicious chocolate. The museum was very interesting, telling the story of chocolate going from a religious drink in South America to the global food giant it is now and Belgium's part in it. Would definitely recommend.
