About this experience

Based on true events—some surprising, some chilling. Away from the crowds. Listen to fascinating facts, ask about hidden corners, and connect with fellow travellers on this small group walking tour. We’ll take you through Bruges’s quieter streets and hidden spots to uncover the kind of stories guidebooks skip. Learn how the world’s first stock exchange was founded here, how tax evasion became a national sport, and how Bruges once had all the wealth and power it could wish for. Hear about murder, mystery and buildings that still seem to whisper at night. This is both a history and ghost tour. No cheap thrills—this is real history, told through storytelling: fast-paced, surprising, and fun. Unlike the big crowd tours, we keep things small and personal. You’ll be able to hear your guide, ask questions, and actually engage. ♡ Small group = more connection ️☺ Real stories, not tourist traps ️♖ Quiet streets & hidden corners ☾ An evening atmosphere you'll remember

The real Bruges!!

The walk was fantastic, Bruges is fantastic and it was Alasdair who brought the city to life. His wit, charm, passion and delivery breathed life into the old city. As the sun began to set the tales and stories carried us through the atmospheric setting. I have been in Bruges for an additional day after the walk, and I see the city in a new light (or darkness). Alasdair's performance was absolutely enchanting and captivating, you really get a sense of his passion and love for the place, and I would like to say some of that rubbed off on me! My favourite two hours in Bruges!

Witches, torture and fun!

Arthur, our guide, was incredible! His knowledge of the takes of torture, history and the city made this our favorite Brugges tour. He made it inclusive of all, happily answered any queries and had a zeal for Brugges and sharing its darker side in times past (and creepily present?)!

Fantastic, highly recommend

Arthur was fantastic! Was a great evening for everyone of all ages. Highly recommend.. He was so knowledgable and held the kids attention so well considering how tire they were and how late it was for them!

An entertaining way to spend an evening

We enjoyed our guide Alastair's flair for the dramatic, although he spoke so quickly it was sometimes hard to understand him. While the stories were interesting, a few were so far fetched they felt made up. It was fun getting to see a part of Bruges outside the central tourist area on a beautiful summer evening.

Bruges at Night: Murder, Mystery & Dark Stories Small Group Walk: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Bruges.

How much does Bruges at Night: Murder, Mystery & Dark Stories Small Group Walk cost?

+

Prices start at $29 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Bruges usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Bruges at Night: Murder, Mystery & Dark Stories Small Group Walk take?

+

Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Bruges is not rushed.

Is Bruges at Night: Murder, Mystery & Dark Stories Small Group Walk worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 79 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 167 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Bruges, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Bruges at Night: Murder, Mystery & Dark Stories Small Group Walk?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Bruges at Night: Murder, Mystery & Dark Stories Small Group Walk suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Bruges at Night: Murder, Mystery & Dark Stories Small Group Walk?

+

Around 58 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Bruges can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Bruges and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Bruges at Night: Murder, Mystery & Dark Stories Small Group Walk start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Bruges within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Bruges?

+

On Outty we rank every Bruges experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Historical Walking Tour: Legends of Bruges, Bruges Guided Retro Biketour: Highlights, Hidden Gems & Tasting, THE Storytelling Tour of Bruges | First Day Must | History & Tips. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Bruges?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Bruges?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
